So true. There are plenty of ESPN talking heads to bash on but Stein is probably the most refutable of all of them there. Obviously Woj is the ultimate voice of reason, but Stein deserves credibility to some extent.

Folks just hear what they want to hear. That's why you see posters below calling out for Cyberx to tell them something on the contrary as if he is more plugged in that Stein (no offense to Cyber). You are obviously just searching for something to believe in.

The fact is the report is mostly about how KD and Hardens interaction isn't a recruiting mission and that part is 100% true on the surface. Hell maybe the league source is Harden himself wanting to ensure he sends a message that his friendship with KD isn't about alternative motives (cough cough Parsons). Who knows.

And really who cares? The Rockets have to sit in their own mess they created this past year. It's going to be an offseason of righting the wrong and getting the ship back on course (mainly restoring Hardens faith in Houston and restoring him as a top 5 player that plays defense). They have to play the PR game a little bit and they need to come out of the gate with a team that plays much more inspired basketball. Next offseason IMO is where they really can make their mark anyways.

Also keep in mind that Dwight Howard said no to the Rockets how many years? Hell he opted into a situation he was miserable in just so the Rockets couldn't trade for him. A season later and a James Harden later... Now the Rockets look like the best thing ever.

The Rockets just need to worry about themselves this Summer. I'm almost glad these reports are coming out now so we can hopefully just do that.

Morey will still try to court Durant, and he has no real interest in Derozan.

What is so unbelievable about the report? Do y'all think Houston's roster is going to sway Durant to join us? Maybe it's the Houston strip clubs?

I hope the front office moves on quickly to other top free agents. The best we can hope for is for d'Antoni to turn Harden and the best PG we can sign in FA into a miniature Splash Brothers tandem. We've basically turned into the Miami Heat of the West, because we sure as hell won't be drafting or growing talent while Les is owner. Hopefully that's good enough for a 6 seed next year. Yuck

Your telling me that KD doesn't want the opportunity to play under D'Antoni with our second and third best players Brewer and Beverly......what is wrong with that man!!!

Stein's source is probably Durabt's high school history teacher or something.

Durant wouldn't be able to handle our awesome spacesuit jersey.

That's not to say I don't WANT Durant, but Batum's defense and his lower usage rate (given Harden will have the ball most of the offense) is what we need. Not more scoring.

    Nailed it.

Everybody should know that Stein bends stories in favour of Dallas and against Houston.

What happened here is Stein went around asking if Harden was guilty of tampering. This drew out the excuses and allowed him to frame up this garbage the way he did.

The future timeline above willl be very accurate.

TBPH, I hope the Rockets don't even get a meeting (which I wouldn't be shocked if he does as a courtesy to Harden). He's not coming here - why stay in the West except for GSW, SAS, or OKC? Let's focus elsewhere.

Fact is Durant will come off quickly, likely to OKC, Horford likely to land in Boston, Conley could be great fit with SAS, and Lebron isn't moving anywhere. Once those 3 come off the board you're going to have a mad dash for the remaining talent, and if you've been waiting around on 1 of those 4, you're likely to get screwed. Everybody's going to be throwing $$. If you've got the cap to sign 2 to max, then perhaps this is a useful venture. But even then it's still doubtful.

But I thought egotistical triple chinned Maury told us that Houston is a top 5 destination, has one of the top 5 players in the league, has the 3rd winningest record over the last x years (whatever that stat means) blah blah blah

it should be easy for us to attract any FA with all that going for us. We always throw our eggs in one basket and go for the real superstars. That is why we chased that loser Melo when we would have had Lowry.

    I call this report BS.

    In Murray we trust

Great. KD is the reason OKC lost game 6 at home, being a ballhog attempting forced shots (no news here) even though not hitting them.

He is staying in OKC, btw.
