This is what Clutchfans are trying to talk themselves into, but no, he's not replacing Ryno. Ryno was not playing outside of a brief moment where D'Antoni lost his mind and played him for a few minutes in Game 7. He was out of the rotation. Melo and Ennis are taking Ariza and Luc's minutes.

Right, he will be trying to fill the role that Ryan Anderson could not.

On paper, I agree with a lot of what they said but to make it seem like Daryl Morey is forced to do this is ridiculous. They are one of the better front offices and have some of the best coaches in the league. You have to believe that they have data that says this will work just like when everyone said Chris Paul wouldn't work.

One thing too is I feel like the Rockets front office/coaches are one of the best at communicating with everyone even the 15th man on the roster on what their role is and what they expect out of them. They have a plan for each player and they continue to drive that home. Morey's analytical team can also "show" each player where they are most successful which helps get them to buy in. I mean, they were able to get value out of Josh Smith and Corey Brewer for awhile and that is saying something.

Hopefully he gets waived today. If not then tomorrow the physicals have had to be done so he’d probably be waived then.

The mistake people are making is Melo isn't a replacement for LMM or Ariza. We didn't let them go because Melo took their money or spot on the team. We still had MLE could have signed LMM easy? The Rockets decision to not had nothing to do with Melo. Ariza wanted money over winning but his money had no impact on signing or not signing Melo.

Ok. If what you say is true, then so...our entire small forward rotation last year is now in the hands of...James Ennis?

    Hooray

Also...why does Ryan Anderson's role need to be filled? The Rockets were far more successful when Ryan Anderson wasn't even seeing the court. There was no real need for the "Ryan Anderson role". There's an enormous need for the "long, switchable, tough defensive wing" role that we no longer have depth in.

When CP3, Harden, & Morey want Melo but I have to read ignorant comments from users crying over Ariza's defense and 0pts in game 7

Skip and Shannon know more than Daryl Morey.

His role, whether he is on the team or not.

If you are referring to one series and ignoring the regular season and the playoff series before that one, then he will still help more. Anderson would've gotten minutes if he was scoring. His inability to score, and in most cases to even have the balls to shoot, kept him parked on the bench.

Skip and Shannon are morons. Anyone who follows sports moderately closely could get on TV everyday and give dumb opinions about stuff. I don't respect what they or any of the talking heads do.

Morey has a CS degree from Northwestern and an MBA from MIT. He is much smarter than all of us.

Morey is at worst a top 5 NBA GM.

We really need a full length story on Carmelo to the Rockets from Jackie Mac. Much like the one we got from ESPN The Mag last season with CP joining Harden. Get those quotes.

That's why they brought in Gerald Green. Basically the same player as Ryno all things considered.

There is a legit debate regarding Ainge, Myers, Buford and Morey .... I wouldn't go "top 3 at worst" so I took the less debatable "top 5"

I see it more like Tucker playing the 3 more. Advanced stats suggest he should be mostly playing the 4. He can't guard 3's anymore.

A big that can stretch the court is needed. Tucker has basically had to do it.
