Hartenstein does not have to be signed. He is still under contract with Valgiris, and has a minor buyout. We could keep stashing him until next year when his Euro contract ends. But it sounds like we want to sign him. Melton will get a chip of the MLE, like Zhou got, just the minimum salary ($830-ish K), but for 3+ yrs to avoild Arenas Poison Pills later. Same could be done with Isaiah. If they both get 3+yr contracts, that will take $1.7m of the MLE, in sum...$830k each.

I've always advocated for Melo, going back to our 1st attempt at getting him awhile back. He's the type of talent that thrives in the right system & pieces around him. Melo just wants to score. He's instant offense. You take 2 guys who are master distributors, in a free flowing MDA system, and you really can't go wrong. He'll get the best looks he's had in his career playing for us. I'm telling you now this will be the steal of the century
