Yeah, that does suck. I don't think it's the norm, but it happens more than it should. And bc of that, I get scared like crazy when put in bad situations with cops present. One time, I had at least 8 guns pointed at me (true story, like 10 years ago I wrote about it on here) and was super alert to do everything they said...bc one wrong move, or sometimes one not wrong move but borderline move...and a bad cop will jump the gun and could unnecessarily take your life. That's the America we live in. It's not the norm, but it could happen, and you have to ready for it when put in the situation.

 

They had no cause to be harassing this guy then he is murdered by a chokehold .

 

The cause was because he broke the law. Ideally, the police would know that the law is stupid as hell, and the courts would throw out all of these bull**** cases because legislatures aren't going to change. I mean, come on. The guy was bootlegging cigarettes. Ridiculous.

 

Did the guy really yell out "I can't breath" and the cop still held on to the chokehold?

I mean come the **** on, isn't it normal to loosen up just a little when you hear a guy say that, especially when you got like three of your cop buddies with you?

Not like this particular suspect was going to outrun anyone.

 

What right do police officers have to just stop random people and start choking them? So many cops think that once they put on that badge that the constitution is invalid.

 

The cop who did the guillotine is racist. That's my final answer.

I think all the cop apologists in this thread are either crazy or brainwashed -- and that it is very un-american. I mean, what country is this? Didn't the revolutionaries that created this nation use police brutality (the Boston Massacre) as one of the instigations to rouse the population to fight for independance. And those were soldiers dealing with an unruly mob throwing rocks at them.

Now look at us. They choke someone to death for arguing with them? He should have lost weight. They knock a guy out of a wheelchair? People should know their place better.

Look, I know we all had real friendly DARE officers spreading propaganda to us when we were impressionable kids -- but, we aren't that stupid right? We haven't devolved that much as a culture have we? Oh, we have -- that's unfortunate.

Evil disabled man, high on bath salts, mad at the world and traveling on his wheelchair at high speeds while clearly looking for trouble, intentionally tries to run over a nice peace officer who had just rescued a kitten from a tree moments earlier and played catch with a fatherless minority adolescent. Peace officer attempts to high five him as he was encouraged by Jeremy Lin to turn the other cheek. Perpetrator is surprised by the officer's humility, loses his balance and is unable to right the ship, comes crashing down as the other peace officers attempt to catch him. Somebody may have been stabbed. Grainy video so not 100% sure. The end.

 

Man I remember that stuff. In elementary school the officer was real nice and had the dog puppet for us and everything. Come Junior High, same cop, but a different attitude. Treated us all like degenerates, and was an all around dik

 

I know there are so many fantastic cops that do a great job keeping our communities safe, but these ***** keep grabbing the headlines.

 

Total excessive force like a poster said above. Chokehold really wasnt necessary the whole time the man was on the ground. Cop should be charged, sued, and dismissed from his duty. If he wants to end someone's life his should at the very least be absolutely ruined.

 

Slapped on there by the competent socialist nanny mayor we just got rid of and sure to be expanded by the incompetent socialist nanny mayor. Guy wouldnt have been in trouble with cops if there was no bootlegging market for cigs.

What if your rights are about to be fatally violated? Are you still just going to let the cops kill you and your family and "lawyer up" from the dead lol?

 

Chokehold wasn't done for that long of time though. I think he did it completely wrong and did some damage where he couldn't breath afterwards. He was saying he couldn't breath after he was done choking him.

Family will win a huge settlement and the cops need to start using tasers more for people resisting arrest.
