Beverley but Ariza needs to shoot less but we can definitely use a better PG like mike conley.... in Morey i believe...
The fact that so many of you voted Prigioni makes me wonder how many actual minutes of gameplay you've seen Prigioni play this season.
Probably little, if any at all. However, they have seen Beverley play. Folks want to try/see something different. Doesn't mean different will mean better but... Alston -> Brooks -> Lowry -> Dragic -> Lin -> Beverley -> Prigioni How did we get here?
He doesn't suck but how many minutes is he going to play? As bad as the Knicks are, Calderon and Larkin were ahead of him in the rotation. Starting PG?? Mchale knows better.
McHale shouldn't maybe consider a 3-headed dragon PG rotation. Start Bev, play him roughly 20 mins (5 in each quarter). Bring Johnson in and have play the next 5 mins next to Harden. Sit Harden and Johnson, bring in Pablo with Brewer or KJ at the 2. I realize game situation will dictate, but if Pablo can cover 12-18 minutes a game to give us a true PG while James rest and we can blend in Nick J, who has better PG skills than Bev, that might give us enough PG play to cover us going forward. Nick is a rookie, but he has good instincts, pretty good court vision and he plays good defense. His shooting is limited, but he'll bring a more athletic dynamic at the 1 then what we have now. Notice I didn't mention Terry. I love JT, but he's move of 2 and I'm not sure putting him out there with Prigs would be the best combo (although 2 37 year-old guards together would probably be the wisest tandem in the league). Bev is Bev. Last year he didn't try to be a play maker as much as this year. Whether its his contract year, coaches urging or him just trying to help, he's obviously trying to do too much. I won't call him crap, because frankly his energy and intensity is still a plus for us. I just think we need to let him focus on what he does best and get him away from trying to be something he's not. For us to have success going forward, we have to do a better job of involving DMo. DMo should be averaging 15-16 pts a game. WE'RE TERRIBLE AT GETTING HIM TOUCHES IN THE LOW POST. I get so frustrated watching him get position and no one seeing or being able to get him the ball. My hope is that Pablo will change this and demonstrate how we can leverage DMo. James H is incredible, but we have to establish other weapons and DMo is the best 2nd option.
Idk why Prig gets so much crap about his age. It's not like his game is or was defined by athleticism.
When Chris Paul brings a championship to his team, then I'll be persuaded you need a top point guard to win in this game.
LOL at the poll. Classic "grass is greener" mentality. Neither Bev nor Prigioni will move the needle. It just speaks to how much Morey has ignored the position that just so happens to be the most stacked in the league.
