All of you adelman D riders make me sick. The guy has never won a championship. He has never took the rockets anywhere but yet everybody thinks he'sup their with Phil Jackson. It is ridiculous that the ROckets start Chuck Hayes, The Rockets are not a championship caliber team. The bes thing for the Rockets is too develop young talent. Players like Battier, Miller and Hayes are taking valuable minutes away from young players who need time in the court to develop.
LOl ya adleman is the master of developing players he did a great job getting production out of Cliff Robinson, Drazen Petrovic and Turkoglu. All of these guys could not get off the bench for RA but were good players on other teams. Btw playing does = developing. Players do not get better by sitting down
Start Hayes to see how the opposing team's center plays. Bring Hill in earlier (MUCH earlier if necessary)
I agree with you here as well. I think another "positive" reason why he collects more fouls than Hayes is his shot blocking. Hill comes in the game swinging away, and when you reach... you get fouls. Don't get me wrong though, its a good thing that he can block shots. He just has to learn to do so without fouling to keep himself on the court.
I like Hill coming off the bench for several reasons...not in any particular order. - let the vets play starters. In some ways they've earned it and it's not like we're getting blown out. - Hill doesn't need to have the starter role to continue his development psychologically. - If Hill starts, he's not going to get many post up plays for him. Those are going to go to Scola. You're actually limited Hill by starting him. - Along the same lines, if you have Miller and Hayes coming in as the backup, you have no postup threat in the 2nd lineup. - Hill fouls too much. Starting him will likely make him less likely to be available at the end of the game. - Generally, the 2nd string will be easier competition for him. I think that's really a better level of competition for his development right now.
