San Antonio is twice the size of Memphis. And Zach Randolph will be 34 next year.

Parker, Leonard, Gasol, Diaw, Mills, Green, and Splitter? Certainly still a contender in the West as long as pop is around, and they always find the right spare parts to fill out the rest of the roster.

Then you're crazy or out of touch with reality.

youre signing on to play with Kabwe Leonard (finals map), tony Parker (top 3 pg), and to one of the, if not the, premier clubs.

No other team can offer that. None.

To me this is not surprising. I think that the spurs would take a lot of players from the grizzlies to play on their team, because Memphis really knows HOW to play team basketball and the spurs are all about team basketball.

I said it before and I said it again: pop would pick mike conley over many other point gurds with bigger names if he didn't have parker.

Agreed. Question for cap experts. Can the spurs sign gasol at max then resign Duncan and Gino at vet min. deal? I'm getting uneasy about that thought.

89-90 Bullets ran out both John "Hot Plate" Williams and Mel "Dinner Bell" Turpin. That Spurs Frontline might be more dominant, but the Bullets' dynamic duo wins based on the strength of the nicknames.

(In case anybody doesn't know, two guys named "John Williams" entered the league at the same time. One was nicknamed "Hot Rod", so the fatty got the nickname "Hot Plate", playing off the 1st guy's nickname. "Hot plate" and "Dinner Bell" still make me smile 20+ years later.)

Fitting into his system would be a bit problematic, other than the big 3 (paul, curry, westbrook) where the talent would just be too much to say no to, i could see it.

Marc Gasol is a system player that happens to flourish in the system that Memphis plays. I am not optimistic at all that he will be able to maintain the same level of play in San Antonio. And he is a subpar rebounder.

I don't know what will happen, but my hunch is that Marc Gasol will stay in Memphis and that LMA will join the Spurs.

Why can't any of these dudes go to the east? Do they not realize how easy it would be for them to win?

What good team could Gasol or Aldridge join in the East that has 20 mil in cap space?

I hope Gasol stays in Memphis. That's an aging team that may have already peaked.

The Spurs don't have the money to get either player.

Imagine they bring in Marc and LA. Boom, no rebuild necessary.
