Caught about 45 minutes of Rome here in Austin last week and it was awesome -- I don't understand the hate, but I don't listen that often.

    lol, really?

Surprised there was no thread about the Smackoff. Yeah, cause it doesn't air in Houston. However, Smackoff on a mobile airs in Houston. I caught about the last 40 minutes of the hour long show. Quality smack at the Jungle.

I didn't bother to check out the regular Smackoff, but apparently, there is controversy because Chael Sonnen won it. People said it was fixed. (it kinda always is..) UFC is a sponsor they say, and it was a conflict of interest. Twitter is all over this **** about how weak it was because of that. yada yada.

Hang it up, go watch your ponies.

I give them very little praise but AM610 made the right decision.

Relies on years' old memes, references and sound clips that are either appealing or annoying. Has a tendency to oversell enthusiasm for a sport, individual or particular guest; when he's trying to be serious it comes off as trivial. Early on, made some overly critical jabs at sports or whole categories of athletes that he ends up having to retract or at least invalidate when he became a national host and ends up having these people as guests on his show.

Has a cadence that to any non-West Coaster probably seems like some kind of smug California sarcasm; I always felt it made him sound a bit younger than he actually was.

I thought it was rigged. UFC has been a huge sponsor for various Jungle segments all year (and radio row at Super Bowl). They knew it would generate a buzz for both the Jungle and UFC, but I think the Twitter reaction they were looking for backfired.

    Smackoff is a pee-pee game.
