I hardly ever spend money on myself, as in buying myself "gifts". I will go out to dinner every now and then...go to the movies pretty frequently, but it's at a $2 theater. Once or twice a year I'll go to a concert or some other type of event like that. I only buy clothes if it's something I desperately need...and I'll buy the occasional video game. I'd guess I spend a around $1000 a year on these types of "entertainment" expenses (it might be less if I didn't have a gf ). I did buy a Macbook pro last January, my biggest purchase I've ever made other than a car. Half of that was from money I got for Christmas though, and it'll pay for itself in time since I use it for freelance videography. The rest of my expenses are necessities like rent, car, student loan, cable/internet, and food.
