i think the lakers go with scott. they have no chance of winning with kobe making $30M. they just need to sell tickets and scott is a name LA fans will come to see, hollins defensive style is something that LA fans may not come to see while they are losing. the nets could screw things up and go for hollins. they are trying to win now for some reason so hollins could appeal to them. but they also want a big name and aren't afraid to spend so karl might be in play as well. mark jackson is a brooklyn guy who might be in play.

More candidates for Nets.
If Hollins wanted to come but only as HC and he signs elsewhere because we have McHale, Leslie and Morey can f off!!
Last December when Kidd was faltering with the Nets, Billy King was seriously considering Lionel Hollins. So they have made some inroads there. As a Rockets fan, I REALLY want Hollins as an assistant, but this last minute Nets situation could come back to bite us! :-(
How many tickets can Byron Scott sell (unless Byron Scott is coaching an exciting, contending team)? How many tickets have you ever purchased to see the coach on the sideline? BTW - - I do suspect Scott is in the pole position to be hired and that Mark Jax will be considered in Nyetland.
Exactly. I didn't think it was possible for me to think less of Jason Kidd but he keeps adding fuel to the fire.
wouldn't fans be more excited to have cassell or ellie as our head coach than mchale? ties to the team and the fan base matter when trying to attract fans. and trying to attract fans matter when you won't be very good at winning games. either way, woj reporting that hollins in the favorite for the nets job. this summer had so much promise. lebron, love, melo, rondo, lowry, hollins. looks like we will just resign parsons, hire mike brown or mike woodson, use the MLE and BAE and go to war with roughly the same group minus asik.

If I can put up with posts like this then you can put up with Kevin McHale as head coach. At least there is an end to basketball season every year. These dumb ass posts never seem to end.
If we don't get Lionel, it wasn't meant to be, but I would be pissed if an incompetent franchise like the damn Nets are the reason we lose a game-changing defensive mind like Hollins.
We need a little of an anti-stats mind in our team. Both philosophies have their positives. Plus, he'd be a great help to give McHale some X's and O's.
