Codman's recent blitz makes me want to look at available players.

    Greg Monroe
    Jahlil Okafor
    Marreese Speights
    Ramon Sessions
    David West
    Nick Young
    A A Ron Afflalo
    Trevor Booker (?)
    Jamal Crawford
    Jordan Crawford

I just picked out a few names from a list.

Anyone know why Afflalo fell off recently?

Speights as a stretch 5 is the only guy I would be interested in. Assuming Anderson is moved. Speights is in China now but could be available during the Feb buyout time.

I don't see how Monroe or Okafor could work in MDA's offense and Bzdelik's switching defense.

Forget Batum. He ain't worth it. Lee has played well for the Knicks. He won't come easily. They may ask for Melton. Markieff is a good enough PF on O, but I think GS would give him a tough time on D. He probably won't be too bad as a backup PF, if RA is moved. It's mission impossible at this point, but if he plays well, then his trade value may improve.

I wonder if Nick Young would take the minimum? He could give us a little more wing depth and save some legs for the playoffs.

I am starting to think Nick Young will be on this team although we have a better version in Gerald Green. Nick Young in the regular season will help win a lot of games but can't be trusted in the playoffs so for the minimum I am starting to warm up to the idea. If he contributed to a couple of wins throughout the season and helped keep Gordon, Harden, Paul fresh for the playoffs then he actually may be worth a look. I just do not like the dude very much.

I don't see the need for Nick Young on the Rockets to add surplus value when they already have Gerald Green and have interest in giving MCW or Melton some burn.

Rockets haven't been this good since 2008. If you aren't competing for a chip you basically have no chances of getting quality buyout candidates.

Josh Smith did wear #5 for Pelicans last year (as well as with Rox & Hawks). He does play PF. @Codman did mention a PF. IJS....

He doesn't seem very likable but then again I used to hate Charles Barkley.

    then....

It's not about getting "some burn", it's about winning. I think Nick Young in spot minutes has more to contribute than a rookie or an MCW. Nick can keep a scoreboard moving.. especially if he's wide open.

I have a hard time believe a guy that shoots like this doesn't fit into our system:

I speak to JSMoov often...not happening for now. Freebirds (#5) isn't a jersey...it's slowly coming together...the fun is starting.

Tell him I started using Frank's Red Hot as my go to hot sauce because of him and that the quality of my food life improved for sure!

    Thanks JSmoove!

The talent is there, but let's hope he doesn't have any unforeseen personal issues.

Could be J.Green and Temple (Cod alluded to J.Green, and Mem being interested in Ryno).

I considered FreeBird #5 to be a buyout Tyson Chandler. But really wasn't sure Morey's plan for centers on this roster. Especially if they want Tucker to get some small ball C minutes. If they are going to move Ryan Anderson, feels like a PF addition should be in order in some capacity.

I would LOVE that if that is the case. Fills BOTH needs of a PF and a swingman.
