    Van Gundy all the way.

    Van Gundy's teams net ratings:
    03-04 = #9 1.93
    04-05 = #5 4.46
    05-06 = #19 -2.02
    06-07 = #4 5.33

    Vogel's teams net rating:
    10-11 = #19 -1.37
    11-12 = #8 3.69
    12-13 = #9 4.33
    13-14 = #8 4.65
    14-15 = #16 0.40
    15-16 = #11 1.77

Vogel's best was #8 in a very weak Eastern conference. Van Gundy had #4 and #5.

Well, he was never a head coach before back then. No head coaching experience. Now he's a proven head coach in the NBA.

One quote from a Pacers fan and I don't want this scrub near our team

"Some of the arguments about the Pacers talent are baffling. They had enough talent in the roster to at least be an average offensive team, not a bottom 5 one. It wasn't Bird bringing on garbage offensive players, it was Vogel's unimaginative, iso-heavy, boring offense leading to under-production."

Yes, Bird's great GM skills, that sent Kawhi Leonard to San Antonio, should not be in question lol

It's a fair criticism, but how would JVG be any better in that respect?

    Question:

Any Van Gundy news? Were they interested or vice versa?

Bird's philosophy is almost as bad as Morey's when it comes to coaching. Make sure to read that article linked by cyberx. Bird believes the shelf life for an NBA head coach is about 3 years which is crazy. A losing coach, sure. But one who's had as much success as anyone in the Pacers' history and as far as I could tell hadn't lost the team like McHale did with the Rockets earlier this season should not be tossed aside like this.

Morey always relies on analytics. There is a lot more to basketball than that. A head coach and his assistants need to convert weaknesses into strengths, and rally the team when the chips are down. That is the key to winning, not just numbers.

I wonder how JBB is feeling now?

Does anyone have the clip of JBB dancing at the party with his team?
