oh nice of twatkins to drop by... twatkins' gut is always wrong...sigh..i guess, maintaining flexibility is king
We would obviously like tut find a new home for Brewer prior to Dec. 23. I can envision a situation where a trade is preliminary agreed to involving Brewer but is not finalized for a few days as the Rockets wait to see if a third team wants to join them in the trade. Brewer would basically be benched and out of uniform waiting fit trade to be finalized.
Rockets are calling every team in the league asking them how many pizzas they'd have to buy them to take brewers contract.
The thought just occurred to me that if Dmo DOES rejoin the team, he is going to be subjected to Lin-level scrutiny by Clutchfans for the rest of the season. I wouldn't mind retaining DMo to see what DAntoni can do, but I'm not looking forward to that.
I can see D-Mo helping by being the guy Harden passes too out of the PNR trap style defense. D-Mo is a good passer and seems to play good help defense. I just have a hard time seeing him supplant Nene.
The longer this goes.... The thing is, you still have flexibility even if you do match. You can always decline the 2nd year by March 1st, keep him through the end of the year, and then resign him using bird rights in the summer. The issue is we have to commit to paying him ~$9 million through this season, but since we were already prepared to pay $7, why should we be hung up on another $2 million plus the inability to trade him?
If they had negotiated more in the summer, and come to a reasonable deal then, say 2 years guaranteed, he might be a trade chip. This whole RFA stuff did not NEED to happen. DD
Not at all, but it's annoying when you have to fish through a sea of repetitive threads to find the ones with decent discussion.
lol did anyone look at that guy's profile. It's got to be a fake picture. If not, it's infinitely more funny thinking of this old Scottish man saying these things.
