The Rockets have the second best record in the league. They had the best record before they were wrought with injuries. They are still undefeated when fully healthy.

No one is saying they are favorites to win it all this year, but they are in their best position to compete for that in 10 years, since the 08-09 season. And they are probably in a better position now than then too.

Having a legit chance to compete doesn't come around very often. Even if LeBron comes, there's no guarantee for chemistry or possible injuries.

Anderson, like it or not, has been one of the starters and major contributors on this team. I would be fine trading him for a potential upgrade but trading him for nothing doesn't make sense to me. We are already complaining about MDA's short rotations.

He isn't and we can replace his floor spacing minutes with Green and miss NOTHING if we gave him away.

We actually have more synergy with the Lakers than anybody else.

Another possibility would be Ryan Anderson staying if he would agree to modify his own contract and non-guarantee the fourth year of his deal. That would make him a much better trade asset after the draft and into the summer. He'd basically be guaranteeing we trade him post season in exchange for staying here for a title run. Could happen.

Calling Ryno a major contributor is a huge stretch. He’s useless at home, but can have some good games on the road. He is often a non-factor offensively. He can play 30 minutes and only take 5 shots.

In our last 4 games, he’s scored 6, 5, 9, and 7 points. The Rockets had no problem winning. He’s not crucial. Providing spacing and gravity can only bring so much value and on-court impact.

How many times this season have u thought, “wow, we really wouldn’t have won tonight if it weren’t for Ryno’s contributions?”

This made me laugh. As if we were ever going to get anything of value in return. Morey has been trying to con other teams into taking Anderson since last summer. But, I give Morey credit for continuing to try. He's probably calling Sacramento every hour on the hour knowing they will probably slip up and agree to some kind of stupid trade.

agreed. and i fully expect ryno to remain on the team for this years playoff run. making a dramatic move while having the season the rockets currently are having isn't ideal and doesnt sound like a morey move

Rockets and Cavs might as well make a deal that works now. Ryno out LeBron in.

    Doesnt make sense..

Give him up for nothing now or later? Why not use him during the playoff run? For Murray to get rid of Ryno because he wants to clean the payroll now is stupid.

I doubt it, Murray would not do that

I'm almost relieved. Seemed like something had gotten to him. This would explain it. The explanation could have been worse.

When did we ever not have a short rotation?

Although I do agree witchoo: don't trade him for a few pennies on the dollar, unless you can flip expiring contracts off Ryno to a third team (etcetera etcetera, you've seen this movie before so why repeat it?)

On a team that already has short rotations, having a starter that has played in every game and averaged almost 30 minutes is a major contributor.

I disagree...he gets PT, but he doesn’t contribute much

I don’t consider him an integral piece at all

To me it looks like Anderson doesn't even want to be here anymore. He's very hesitant to even shoot the ball. That's not the way we play. His job these days seems to be to help Harden or Paul if they lose their dribble. Anderson catches a pass and then gives it right back to Harden and Paul so play can continue. Not much of a contribution at this point.

He would also be a better small ball 5. I hope he's been shooting 10,000 threes a day in his off time.
