1 1st rd pick isn’t bad at all if they would take Anderson

Makes no sense for us to trade Anderson for Jefferson. He’s been on a steady decline the last 3 years and hasn’t done **** this year. Anderson spreads the floor and can heat up. Please don’t send him to IND for that scrub.

Wait, who would be getting the draft pick? Because Al Jefferson sucks!

The cost of getting rid of Anderson’s contract will be a 1st and taking on a “better” bad contract. Jefferson wouldn’t be included for his play. It’ll be for the 1 less year compared to Ryno’s contract.

I personally don’t think the Rockets pay a first rounder to shed Ryno. They’ll need all the assets they can get to land a splash FA next year like LeBron.

The Rockets (and many here) are fine with playing this season out with Ryno. His team is so elite when he does what he’s supposed to do. Hit shots from deep and way deep. Rebounds, defense, and drives from him are all bonuses in this scheme.

Here’s what I believe to be the criteria to let him go this year:

    1) No first round pick attached to him. Second rounder in the mid forties is the price that the Rox are willing to pay.

    2) There is a 4 available that can hit the 3 well enough that defenders have to switch on pick and rolls/pops. This is why On Ryno is so good for the Rockets. He picks and floats to 3feet behind the three-point line. Defenders either switch on him giving Harden/CP3 the matchup they want, or they let him float there and he gets a wide open 3. If he hits, we will score a lot and the defense gets softer throughout the game.

Ryno is good for his 3s and his newt (is that the unit of measurement for gravity?)

Anyone that replaces him only needs to hit the three and pick/Pop well. Rebounding and defense won’t be a huge concern for the replacement because it was low with Ryno anyway. Just rotate properly.

Jefferson's contract is non-guaranteed for next year with no guarantee date until the mandatory date in January. Adding that contract is essentially buying 12-15 million of cap space for a trade.

If Indy would trade both Collison (also non-guaranteed for next season until after the draft in June) and Jefferson for Anderson and our 2021 first rounder.....that's very, very tempting..even if we have to throw in another player asset or second round pick.

He is an expired. I still wouldn't do it if I were the Rockets. I know posters here are desperate to get rid of Ryno but we can't be short sighted just because we want to make some splash in free agency and because we have Gerald as a 9th man. We need to have 10 good players that can give Mike options to rotate around. You trade Ryno for just cap relief and you are going backwards. Regardless of Rynos shitty bad stretch of games this season he still has also had good stretches and is a threat that needs to be some what paid attention to.

We have a chance a championship this season, don't throw that **** away for ****ing cap relief.

I feel like a Jefferson trade would have to followed up with another trade to give us a PF who can at least play a few minutes.

What do you think? Would a secondary trade (/signing) be necessary or could we roll with that roster?

Possible destinations and deals for Anderson.

Portland - needs and wants out of the luxury tax. Other teams are holding them hostage for a first rounder to get them out. We could take back Harkless and Leonard and another small contract (sent to a third team) and get them out. And we may be able then flip Harkless plus a small asset for a slightly smaller deal to keep us out of the tax.

Utah - they need a shooting 4. Johnson, Thabo, and one more small contract is enough salary. They'll must likely want a pick. Might be worth considering if they include favors and we include Nanu.

Charlotte - if they decide to blow it up we could conceivably move Anderson there by taking on more long term money.

Lakers - if Deng agrees to partially non-guarantee his deal there may be a deal there by taking on an additional contract (Clarkson) and creating an additional 10 million in cap space for them next season.

Indy - possibly with their non-guaranteeds and one pick.

Orlando - would likely have to take back biyombo and Augustine. May be able to get away with just a second rounder in this type deal.

Maybe a month or two ago you consider prepping this franchise for the arrival of Lebron. But championship opportunities are never guaranteed. You can't say we'll have one or two or three or however many shots with Lebron, when right now in 2018 you've got the best shot this franchise has had since Hakeem Clyde and Barkley were here.

Selling low on Ryno might not affect us much in terms of roster usage, but it sure as hell sends the wrong message to our team. Ryno can still contribute. You dump him for an expiring now, and everyone on the team will know that their time with this franchise might be short. A looming offseason of upheaval can't be good for team chemistry.

Stand pat and ride the 6 game winning streak with 10 in the past 11. We get Gordon, Ariza, and Ryno back and we are gonna be the strongest opposition the Warriors have faced in their four year streak of dominance. If we unseat them from the one seed then they know, their era is about to be over.

Yes we do. Love cap and nene but can't guarantee nene will be all there once playoffs come around and the last buy I want out there is Tariq Black
