He did, but it wasn’t like he told the Clippers that he wanted to go to any of the teams on his list. He figured out that he wanted the Rockets, then essentially said “I’m signing with Houston, they have deals in place to make the cap room for me. It will benefit both organizations to work out a trade if I opt in”. Steve Balmer and Jerry West jumped at the opportunity. Balmer and CP3 even had a heart to heart session where CP3 gave him feedback on what his thoughts were on the Clippers organization after he decided to leave.
You’re right, but I still think it’s helpful to point out the difference between that and Butler’s situation.
Well it's pretty much resolved. Butler is being traded whether Tom wants it to happen or not. I would say the situation is pretty much resolved.
Just to be clear, there's not a single source linking Houston to Butler other than ClutchFans, right?
