Sam Amick is the media member that Daryl has confided with in the past. He would likely have a very good idea of what is happening. So why would the Rockets leak this information? Perhaps to try and push Butler and his camp to get a deal done ASAP..... that Minnesota isn't negotiating in good faith. That is just my guess.... no one has told me that.
Amick has gotten information from the Rockets on the Dwight Howard signing....... he also just wrote an article that is flattering towards Mike D'Antoni and another on Carmelo Anthony in the last month. He also was the one that claimed that the Rockets were really considered by James before going to LA.
When Sam worked for Sports Illustrated years ago, I did some legal work for the parent company and I know that Sam was one of the only reporters that took Daryl Morey seriously at the time.......... There is a certain reporter at ESPN (not WOJ) that ruined his relationship with the Rockets and has tried to get inside information for the last three years without success........
