I wonder how the Greece crisis will affect basketball in that country. I remember when Josh Childress signed a contract there and then left before his contract expired because he says that the terms were not honored. Checks bouncing or being mailed late, that kind of stuff. Apparently European basketball presaged the business dealings that would later plague the rest of that ill-begotten economy. Just imagine, an entire country failing to honor contracts and things like tax obligations.
the owners of PAO and Olympiacos are filthy rich. So they won't have such a problem but they anyway cant throw big contracts around like Russia or now Turkey. Josh Childress was a scrub when he played in Oly. It was a joke I enjoyed very much watching. Oly and PAO pay the contracts just fine. But Calathes is a special case. He already lead Pao to a euroleague title and he was tutored to be the leader after Diamantidis is going to retire- which should be soon. But he wanted to try the nba. It's best for him not to come back even if all the PAO fans love him, because the new owner is a drug addict thug idiot who has destroyed the team's reputation with his behavior. I love him but I don't want him to come back to my team again, for his own shake.
