My bad, his exact words were that it’s “lined up” not “a lock”.

    Green is a SG/SF
    Johnson is a SF/PF

Green can get SG minutes with Harden & CP
Johnson can get PF minutes when Anderson $hits the bed.

In some aspects, we could see more Tuckwagon (C) minutes. Just shifting everyone down. Play 5-out.

So you're saying there's no way he's getting any minutes at the 3 then with us? I find that very hard to believe.

We'll see. I have no problem picking up Joe(although I'd prefer another big man). But I fear that once EG is back in the rotation, Green will become a forgotten man again.

Perhaps. But we can't have our cake and eat it too. We can't complain about not having rotation worthy guys at the end of the bench when we have injuries (and history shows WE WILL have them) and then at the same time wonder why player X isn't playing.

Load up the roster. Injuries and foul trouble will happen. Off games will happen. Have to be prepared. This team is tight and has fun so everyone will be engaged.

If the Rockets get JJ, to me that means you could see a lot more Tuckwagon C lineups.
    As an example...

    Paul
    Harden
    Ariza
    Johnson
    Tucker

Basically, less minutes for Nene as backup C. Unless the Rockets need that bulk for certain matchups.
Think of Joe Johnson as "Carmelo-lite."

I follow the NBA pretty closely...

And I didn't know Joe was a small ball 4 now??

According to 82games.com, he's definitely more SF that PF this year. He seems to get about 60% of his minutes at SF. But almost all the rest is PF, with a small amount at SG. He hasn't been good this year, and has been his worst at PF.

Last year he was he got a large majority of his minutes at SF, then some at PF and some at SG. He seemed to play his best at PF though (highest PER, highest net +/- rating.

    Small sample sizes in all...

But to me he's a SF with flexibility.

The biggest issue is what does he have left in the tank, regardless of position?

Tucker looks so small out there. He is listed at 6'5 but he looks more like 6'4 to me... crazy how he plays PF in the NBA.

“Minutes at the 3” doesn’t mean what it used to. For example:

    Harden
    Moute
    Ariza
    Johnson
    Anderson

This is a real line up possibility when we play the Warriors. There is a 2, two 3’s, and two 4’s or rather one PG and four 4’s depending how you look at it.

My only issue is that Green has earned minutes. EG has been solid for the Rockets this season, but his 3-point shot has been off. Green on the other hand has been reliable from downtown. D'Antoni needs to adjust accordingly during games. When other EG or Ariza aren't hitting their 3-pointers, give Green heavy minutes. When we're playing a team that guards the perimeter tightly and we need guys who can get into the paint, that's when you give EG more time instead of Green.

Don't just go with a set 9-man rotation no matter what and forget all about Green.

I know what I saw last year in the playoffs. He was good for Utah. And CP saw it up close.

I think it's also due to the situation, Utah doesn't play as much small ball as other teams if Favors is healty, but during the playoffs he was hurt or still recovering from injuries and didn't play much if i remember well so, probably JJ took some minutes there, but he did fine so, can't see why wouldn't work here.
