I don't buy it as a contingency to Bosh.

Okay... I'm alright with losing Parsons as long as we get Love plus a really good 3 and D guy. Deng would qualify. Also... we better NOT let Parsons walk to the Mavs.

Oh, and much appreciation Cyberx. I, as well as 95% of posters and lurkers, love the inside info.

I'm pretty sure a Deng signing would be followed by a Parsons sign and trade to Boston or Minnesota.

If you go to All Star this year - PM me.

Will get you into some player parties!

Then can have a bromance again?

If the Rockets were looking to bring in Melo & keep Parsons, it should be no shock that they would consider Parsons & Deng also being able to fit together.

They are both big SF's who can spread the floor in smaller 4 out/1 in lineups, and can guard PF's about as good as alot of smaller PF's can anyways (see Terrence Jones, Ilyasova, Boozer, J. Green, Melo (KNK), etc.)

The Rockets still probably would need to have another legit big on their roster who can match-up to bigger lineups on occasion (mostly for playoffs) but I think they would be thinking that offensively they will force teams to go smaller more than they would be forced to go big.

Good news for this move would be the Rockets would have ample flexibility more than likely even with Parsons on a (mini) Max deal. I dont see Deng getting anything more than Parsons is getting in free agency this year. Probably 4 years/52 mil ish (Cyberx... not sure you can confirm what the numbers are that have been proposed to Deng yet, but I'd appreciate seeing that).

Losing out on Bosh would suck, but Deng is a nice consolation prize, and would help lower the blood pressure of all the capologists on the board I'm sure.

So Morey goes after Love and Deng fills in for Chandler.

Wtf? Does morey actually believe Lebron is staying in Miami? Isn't it a forgone conclusion that Lebron is returning to Cleveland?

I think having both Deng and Parsons could work out okay. Deng at least improves our perimeter D while being a solid offensive player. As long as he's healthy.

cyber - what is this part of?

    Deng screams goodbye Chandler.

    Chandler to Boston?
    Chandler to Minnesota?

I figured the contingency plan was Ersan/Anderson/Young and Rondo. If we get Deng for around 10 a year and don't add anything else we could still add a Love or a Rondo or even Rondo + one of these other guys.

Also why is Morey keeping a Laker fan so close? Are you Bill Simmons playing out your bizarro self via internet forums?

Morey thought Dwight was going to Golden State a few hours before he chose Houston.
