2 decent years playing 1/2 the regular season and going off in the playoffs
Then 2-3 years of playing like Dirk/VC/Kobe at the end of their careers

First it does make sense, because Cavs are clearing all the Lebrons off the roster. Also, as a "point guard" Sexton averages barely 3 assists per game after averaging 3 assists per game in college.

Second, unless you have a better idea of how to get rid of Chris Paul's deal don't hate on my dreams

 

Yes if they got a premier asset they would be interested to absorb CP3 contract with its immense negative value. They have already begun acting like a dumpster site team.
Say a top 10 pick should do it.
But we don't have the necessary asset to get rid of CP3.

Kevin Love, another player with high risk/high reward that may come in "cheap" considering his NBA history. Not surprised Morey is interested in him.

 

It could be a larger trade with multiple teams where the Rockets net more than just Love (although that is more complicated).

I personally think Capela at his age and salary has more value around the league than Kevin Love. So the Rockets in a multi team could wind up with Love and another rotational piece.

Then the Rockets can fill out their roster with the MLE and LLE possible.

Just too many "if's" for the Rockets to feel comfortable that something really good will come together.

 

Kevin Love plays zero defense. This is a joke. Cleveland literally had to pull him at the end of their games in the championship run due to his lack of defense. I'm NOT ok paying someone a ton of money that we might have to potentially pull out of the game at the most critical points of the game because of their inability to play defense.

 

You guys need to stop dreaming off a cp3 trade. That will not happen.

 

Those are good points, and why I could see the Rockets roll the dice on Love at the 5 if they get someone long and that is a good defender to man the 3 or 4.

Hypothetically the Rockets deal Capela and Gordon to the Cavs for Love and an asset from a 3rd team (lets say something like the Rockets move: Capela, Gordon and Nene for Love and Etwaun Moore from the Pelicans in a 3 team deal). The Rockets then can use their MLE to go after someone like Aminu or JaMychal Green.

The Rockets then can put 5 shooters on the floor from the perimeter, and they have 3-4's that can help cover some of the deficiencies of Love.

Does that make the Rockets better?

As a LT team I do not believe the LLE/BAE is available to them. Just the T-MLE at ~ 5M and Vet Min deals.

 

This dude has been awful in every single game against Golden State. I love KLove for everything else, but if we're tooling to beat the Warriors, this ain't it.

 

Capela is a liability on the defense too against gsw. Not to mention liability on offense. Which K.Love wouldn’t be.

And good luck to keeping Gobert or Brook Lopez type centre in the paint to contest Hardens drives while Love is in the corner for 3
