nah they're not doing 1-16 seeding. that doesn't keep it as normal. in fact it's the opposite of keeping it normal by doing something the nba has never done before. they wanted the playoffs to be traditional East/West with 7 games in each round just like any other year and that's the plan.

Am I the only one not interested in this? Why don’t we just scrap this entire season and start fresh for the next season come October? There are still many uncertainties about the virus, and to play just a couple of months in the same place and having no home crowds? I think the better route is to treat this pandemic with some sort of common sense, recognizing that it does damage to the whole world and not just the NBA, in the haste of returning to a lost season. I would just rather the league spends the few precious months they have now to work on the opening of next season with all the contingency plans in case there is a second, third wave coming. Remember, at the moment, there is no cure, no vaccines, no drug therapy for this pandemic.

Players also playing for revenue, they get 50% of TV revenue.

So players on teams not playing should be exempt from this pot? Maybe prorated.

To me it would’ve made way more sense to have 18 teams, 9 from each conference where each team plays the ones in their own conference once since they went with 8 final games. This 9-13 split just for Zion and Blazers is just sad. Also disappointed they went as traditional as possible. Silver wanted something new and innovative and a group world cup style would’ve been a lot more fun. It’s already a non-traditional season with people claiming asterisks and should’ve cancelled the season so why not just go nuts a bit.

I thought the virus went away? I haven't heard anything about the virus since last Friday and with all the people gathering in the tens of thousands, spitting into each other mouths, tear gas, pepper spray...this virus must already be gone or this virus was extremely exaggravate and a total hoax.

all NBA owners get a share of the 50% TV revenue even if their team don't play? This would be great news for the struggling small market teams that need that TV revenue in New York, Chicago, and the Golden State.

Yeah, extremely confusing. In my Seattle area, Governor dumbass and his doofus mayors refused to let people going back to work and open up their businesses again, but they let the looters and rioters loose to wreak havoc on Seattle.

LOL....that's what I'm saying!!! We can't go back to work or eat at a restaurant, but hey, if you want to gather with Thousands of people, neck to neck, it's cool. Last week, all you heard was about the virus, then it just suddenly disappeared and thousands of people can not gather, as long as you're not doing it at work!

Open it up! NYC has not have a death in more than 2 days!!! NYC was averaging 500 deaths a day, now averaging 0 deaths!!!

They should at least allow some people in the stands to watch the games in July. Maybe not 20,000 people, but 2,000 people to watch some NBA would be nice. We're allowing 10's of thousands of people marching hand to hand, why not let 2000 people watch some sports or watch some booty shakes in the strip club? Sugar babies need money too

    https://nypost.com/2020/06/04/nyc-reports-no-new-coronavirus-deaths-for-first-time-since-mid-march/

There were zero additional deaths between Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the city’s Health Department data that is reported with a 24-hour lag.

During that same period earlier this week the city saw just three probable deaths of people who never tested positive for the virus but showed tell-tale symptoms. Those probable deaths could be reclassified as confirmed deaths in the coming days, Cohen said.

There were 500 new fatalities each day during the pandemic’s peak in early April.

Over 65 is at risk if they have pre existing conditions. I don’t believe those coaches have any.

Come on, NBA, either do this or don't. You're willing to put 100s at risk to finish the season; don't start discriminating against these old folks. Tillman isn't paying D'Antoni in Landry's gift cards for him to coach from his hotel room.
