Sad but true... I hope this one dies out after 20... But even that's optimistic

I don't know about that really. Anderson for example is the same type of bench quality role player that DMo is and actually has a worse injury history. Their roles are obviously different in that Anderson is a 3 point specialist and DMo's skill set is a bit more well rounded, but they are not terribly different overall.

As much as I enjoyed watching dmo in 14-15: its probably time to move on. He hasn't been truly healthy for a significant period of time and even when he returned he didn't quite regain his touch.

Full credit to he and his agent if he can get a quality deal elsewhere, but I'm of the opinion there's just too much baggage here. Matching an offer anything over 7-8 is ridiculous in my opinion. Hes no THAT good.

If the price is right I won't be mad but the fact he has refused to sign here means the writing is on the wall. Matching over a certain amount (and maybe all together) would be a mistake. We already have two bad contracts we don't need a third.

Good luck dmo and all the best

He actually is that good. If DMo can get anywhere close to his 2015 level, he'd be worth a lot more than 8mm/year. Have you seen some of the free agent signings this year? Al Jefferson got 30mm/3 years from the Pacers (3rd year team option). Teletovic got 30mm/3 years from the Bucks. Jon Leuer got 42mm/4 years from the Pistons. Do you want to know the caliber of player who signed for 7mm/year? Boban Marjanovic with the Pistons. He's averaging 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 6 mpg. Cole Aldrich also got 7mm/year from the Timberwolves. He's averaging 3 points and 4 rebounds.

Wow, you were so right. Congratulations. It only took him how many months and a player going out to injury for him to produce a single offer sheet? You must feel really vindicated.

This is all any of us have been calling for him to do for months. It's not our fault it took a player going out to injury for him to get an offer he liked. Or was that the Yule C prediction all along? As in, Yule C, when someone gets badly injured and a team gets desperate, he'll get more than 7 million...

Nobody has really argued he wasn't going to get an offer sheet. Everyone expected he would and that he would play out RFA like every other player that goes through it does. But his market value apparently wasn't satisfying to him until it went up due to a team being in a pinch.

Sorry, bud. I don't think you score points on this. There is nothing prescient in waiting for a team to be desperate in order to get any, just any offer sheet, which is all the front office has been asking him to do for all this time. If Utah truly valued him they always had the cap space to sign him so what took so long? Oh, right. Favors.

Maybe we'll match, maybe we won't. I don't much care anymore. If he's a Rocket I'll support him and hope he plays well for us. If he's not, fine. I just want this over. It's been a dark cloud hovering over an otherwise fantastic season.

    This is really bad punctuation.

If Dmo can get anywhere close to his 2015 level he actually is that good, is what I think you meant to say.

Because if he can't, he isn't. And the reason any of this is happening is nobody knows because he hasn't been willing to sign so he could play. However it ends up, I'm just glad it's ending. It's been gross and depressing when everything else about the team only makes me want to cheer.

If the offer is amenable to the front office I'll welcome him back and hope for the best. He's been freaking me out, acting like he was negotiating his last contract ever, but if he's good to go I would like to see our long investment in him come to fruition.

I don't feel like I'm going to lose any sleep if the Rockets don't end up matching the offer he gets. There must be a reason why he didn't want to accept the one year offer. It's his choice to play hard ball but it's his money he's losing in the end. If there was another team that was interested he would have already gotten a contract. Good for Dmo, I hope this saga ends soon. If he plays for the Rockets that's great, if he plays for another team that works for me too.

    My point exactly.

None of those guys are worth their contracts either. Although Teletovic has a nice stroke.

Remember this is a RUMOR with an IF of Favors missing time, which we don't know yet.

    Yes that's what I meant.

I'm sure posters in here meant the Parsons contract that was the regular kind without the big spikes but with anti-trade elements worked in.

Dmo is talented, no doubt, he is going to play saxophon and Jazz where there is no Jazz.

I think we'll let him walk if getting D-Mo back is means sacrificing cap space in the summer. Unless the 2nd season is non guaranteed or doesn't exist, then we'll match anything.

Are there any teams interested in Alec Burks? We could probably get him back is a sign and trade, but we don't really need him for anything. Would Philly be interested in Burks + a 1st or 2nd rounder for Noel or Okafor?

Overall, I'm more inclined than ever to let him walk. I have faith that one of Harrell or Dekker will develop into an equally good PF. I'd rather develop our guys, seeing as we've already given them minutes to develop this season and already endured a big part of their inexperience. At the same time, I'm torn because we need to improve our talent pool and if there is a chance he bounces back into form, on a reasonable contract that could be a very valuable asset.

Yup. Why the hate by everyone? Because haters gonna hate. Rockets took away all offers, DMo doesn't have an offer from ROckets anymore, why would u get mad? You expect him to refuse all other offers and stay jobless?

Oh wow. I def think Anderson is a significant upgrade at PF just because of how valuable shooting is in today's NBA. I hope someone in the Jazz's FO see it like you for DMo's sake.

Basketballhollic knew all along that Favors would get hurt. The Jazz told DMO weeks ago that Favors would get hurt and they would sign him. #Genius #YuleC
