You don't end up with the #1 overall pick if you have a good QB.

Let us not forget, we had a chance to sign Drew Brees but stuck with David Carr.

DT is a product of Peyton both as the guy passing to him and as the player coach teaching DT how to catch Peyton-thrown passes. Maybe AJ can teach the position, but DT wouldn't have become the same player here.

Can't say the same about Dez, he was blowing us up even as a punt returner.

How can a team make the same idiotic mistakes over and over for 12 years of a team's existence? Different players, different coaches....same garbage.

Obviously you never seen Demaryius play with Tebow... He was showing how good he was before Manning got there.

You forget that Peyton was coming off of a very serious injury. Hindsight is 20/20, but at the time nobody knew what level he'd come back at. I don't think that even Denver thought he'd be as good was he was as quickly as he was. Add on top of that, we couldn't have signed him outright. We'd have had to cut players and restructure contracts to make room. That, combined with Peyton's uncertain health is why we didn't go after him. He looks like a safe bet now, but at the time he was a pretty big risk, even though it was Peyton Manning. Denver's QB situation was worse than Houston's so they elected to gamble while the Texans didn't.

Really? Because if Hopkins put up the numbers Thomas did in his first two years, people on here would be b****ing up a storm. He might've shown flashes, but he didn't take off until Peyton. Another thing people seem to forget is that when Denver signed Manning, people were skeptical of how we'll he'd do because "Denver didn't have any good receivers". And then BAM!, Thomas and Decker have breakout seasons and people forget that was ever a concern.

I said _ with Tebow _ who threw like 5-10 times a game (Decker was making plays that year too). Plus Demaryius didn't have an HOF like AJ to draw attention like Hopkins did. Of course Demaryius is better with Manning _ what receiver wouldn't be. I just stated he was already good before Manning got there.

If it takes him this long to recover from a minibus tear I would hate to see what happens when he tears an ACL or anything that requires more than a month to come back to action.
