I'm not eager, just being realistic. Nuggets WILL ask for Brooks or Martin and I rather give up Martin. I'm not coming up with a bogus trade proposal that only benefits one team. This way both team benefits.

Why would they give up Lawson just to get Brooks back? That makes no sense.

Wonderboy- put a spoiler on that please.

    Why give up Martin?

He's got a decent contract at a position of need. He's a better shooter than Brooks and actually draws fouls.

Brooks will want more money after this year.

Didn't we just trade Ariza to make Brooks happy?

Martin is more likely to be involved in a deal then Brooks... IMO.

Despite all the gossip, I'm pretty sure the Ariza trade had nothing to do with Aaron Brooks. It's not like he's a reigning MVP.

Posted this in the random trade. It can be reality. We probably won't be able to afford Brooks anyways next year.

Trade Exception could be used to take a contract off of their hands in a "second" deal tied in with this one.

I think Denver will make whoever takes Melo to take Birdman along with. His salary fits inside the Trade Exception and if Denver realizes that rebuilding is what they would need to do, getting rid of Andersen and his contract would help that.

    Just speculation on my part.

They may want brooks by giving us billups, they will rebuild so no point to peep billups. They will want as many young pieces as possible. brooks/martin/bud/hill + fillers for melo + billups

Not really excited about this. We're going to have to get up a lot for a player that hasn't taken a very good team very far. I lived in Boulder when he came to the Nugs and was a big Nugs/Melo fan... Can't say I'm that big of fan of his anymore. Unless we can keep Yao (and he's healthy), Brooks, Martin, Scola, I don't see much use in getting him.

Smartass. You know I meant individual players. We're obviously not going to give them Yao and Brooks or Brooks and K-Mart.

What's not exciting about getting a Top 3 Small Foward in his prime that led his team to the WC Finals 2 years ago?

I'd rather give up Martin than Brooks because if Martin leaves, we have decent back-ups to fill the void. When Brooks leaves, who do we have? Sure Lowry is a nice back-up but who do have after Lowry? Ishmal Smith is not even good enough to be a 2nd string PG.

You do make a good point that Brooks will ask for more money, but he'll be worth it. He's only in his third year putting up 20 and 5. He will only get better. Martin has reached his peak.

Yeah, he took his team to the conference finals in 2009. The last time we were there SNL was still funny.
