The same as it has ALWAYS been reported by CyberX and Woj, sign and trade with Philly. The only people mentioning opt-in were Rockets fans hoping that Butler do so.

I'm just saying, i wished for a total commitment on winning by Jimmy coming here, the opt in trade would've been much better for the Rockets, but as it stands he has at least more interest in getting paid early rather than give his potential team a better chance to win.

Yes, opt-in trade is better for the Rockets as it allows us to keep and sign more players. To do that however, Butler had to opt-in to the last year of his contract and then get traded to us and in the process, lose a bunch of money. Think millions.

With a sign and trade, he signs a contract with Philly who then immediately trades him to the Rockets. This puts the Rockets at the apron however, severely hampering our ability to sign additional players for the rest of this season. It does however net Butler a lot more money.

 

This is a complete and utter delusion on your end. He has always wanted a max contract, just on a contender.

For what we know of Butler not only money is his priority but also being in the spotlight hanging out with Hollywood stars in LA, however noone could predict if his priorities now that he's almost 30 may have changed.

For now what has been validated is that his priority is $ over winning, but Philly's 5th year will show us to what extend that is.
