    The problem with Whiteside is that you never know when his motor will be on. He's an elite shot blocker for sure and can rebound like crazy but when things don't go his way....

    I haven’t watched him a lot but from what I’ve seen, Whiteside is all about Whiteside.

    this 1000%. His expiring contract wouldn't help Houston anyways considering we would have to send out MORE than just Capela just to make the salaries work out. Basically we would have to send out Capela + Tucker or Capela + Gordon for Whiteside. Looking at it from that POV, everyone should say hell nah.

    Whiteside and Winslow came close to happening before the deadline.

    Miami has now shifted it's focus to moving Waiters and James Johnson in a salary dump. They'd love to move those salaries out for expirings and become major players in free agency next summer instead of waiting until 2021. Kelly Olynk still has neutral to positive trade value as well and they'd dump him if they could. So there is still the possibility of a deal with Miami unfurling if we get into the summer and Butler and all the big names are gone. Capela and a re-signed Shump (with one season guaranteed) for Waiters or Johnson and Winslow could come into play. And a larger deal with both Capela and Gordon along with Shump re-signed with one season guaranteed could come into play with us taking on salary for the Heat pick and Winslow. Especially if we could move Capela to a third team for an expiring and a pick.

    @cyberx any updates to Jimmy? All reports seem to indicate that Philly is prepared to offer the full 5 year max and Jimmy is prepared to accept it.

    Any news on potential trades or potential hires for the coaching staff?
