All of you that think Rick Smith is the biggest problem this franchise have are going to have a long off-season.

But is he the solution?? 10 years is long enough. Time for new blood to try and turn the franchise around.

I mean, do you expect him to come out and announce that he's going to fire his GM at the end of the season?

No offense to you at all...I'm so tired of this logic, though.

this is the same logic that extended David Carr.

"Hey, Carr isn't our biggest problem...so let's not move on from him....in fact, let's keep him around."

    Yeah, no thanks.

If you see a problem...and you think you can replace it with something better...regardless if it's your biggest problem or not....replace it if you can.

No but I would rather him say everyone is going to be evaluated at the end of the year, no matter the results!

He will never let go of Rick Smith. New blood needs to come in, change the mentality. 10 years is insane. Bob is scared to make big decisions & pull the trigger. We will never win a super bowl with him around.

    McNair is hopeless.

Guy is clearly looking to profit off these loyal fans. He doesn't give enough of a **** about winning. As long as he can "sell" the team to the fans, he knows he's in good shape.

Plenty of mediocre years ahead guys.

Is it that difficult to make this decision? I understand he's been around for 10 years, but seriously? At what point does accountability take a front seat?

This article doesn't really state much. The way I read McNair's comments is not that he won't fire Rick Smith (though he may very well not). He basically said "I'm not worrying about that now. Right now we are worrying about winning Sunday and trying to win the division."

The writer is just trying to turn that simple statement into a story. It's more worthless journalism.

So who here called the "bob/rick will save their jobs by tryharding for 8-8 and chasing a title in a weak division"? This is "right track" deja vu.

You are right... The biggest problem is the owner, but since he cannot be ran out of town, the next biggest problem is McNair's prayer buddy cousin Rick.

So what problem do you see that are directly Rick Smith's fault?

It doesn't .... and won't as long as it is one of Bob's boys.... Rick and Cal have the organization on lock down and BOB can get on board or go.

Bob threw the gauntlet down.... Compete for the division crown.... Doesn't matter if you go 6-10 or 7-9... It would be a successful year. Let those other organizations like the Patriots and Steelers and Packers aim for winning Super Bowls.

No. Next biggest problem is the fans who buy jerseys, tickets and tailgate passes.

Bob is a businessman selling a product. And boy does it sell.

But we don't know what Rick does. We can guess and speculate all you want like we've been doing for 5+ years, but the front office fog will keep him safe.

What are Rick Smith's worst moves and what are his best moves? Can we compare them side by side?
