If Les gave Mike D'Antoni both head coach and GM duties...oh...oh my...the meltdown would be of biblical proportions...
I know a lot of clutchfans will disagree, but firing Morey would be just a huge mistake. Just huge. Houston isn't in that bad of a position.
The only people who would want Morey fired are delusional. He had a tough year but he deserves a chance to recruit. Codman posting above worries me.
But wasn't Les all hype for the McHale extension? I remember a couple of Les quotes on Mark Berman's twitter like "i wanted to resign him soon cause other teams were ready to steal him"...? From those quotes it seems Les was pretty high on McHale too...
People who think other teams are going to hand their keys over to Murphy if he is fired and give him the same control he has had in Houston are projecting their love of him on to the league. He does not have the respect of the league, unlike the coach he unceremoniously dismissed in order to smooth egos - and that matters despite what a bunch of randoms on the interwebz think. IF he ever gets another head GM job, it will not be with the level of authority he's had in his tenure here and most likely after holding a lower position for a while. If you think he would get another full-control GM job almost immediately, please give a destination that you think would do this. No one is trusting the math nerd with the keys to the Benz without supervision any time soon.
___________________ Expand OP! Expand Cod! Expand Cyber! Is Leslie firing Daryl? Is Daryl stepping down? Daryl ready to move on? Disagreement over coach(es)? Does a certain coach want control & Les is offering it? Did Leslie pull a "Philadelphia" and "lessen" Daryl's say? Leslie really takes his winning serious — was it the 41-41 season?
And btw, good luck in dumping Brewer, TJones, Ariza and whoever you want to free cap space this summer without a (good) gm...better chance we max Dwigth to see Harden leave next year lol
