Dude should be rookified... http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...ts-owner-gives-gm-daryl-morey-vote-confidence
I'm not aware of Morey ever being a stock broker. I know he was a strategy consultant and a sports statistician before catching on with the Celtics. But, regardless of his pre-NBA career, I have to think after 12 years of working in the NBA, he has to know at least a little bit about basketball by now.
This might be related to JVG signing, and it might be Morey's decision as to whether he would be comfortable reporting to JVG instead of Les. DD
So Cod said in another thread that Morey may still be on the hot seat depending on how certain transactions play out. With that said, I'm not questioning the OP's information completely, but I do find it suspect that he gave with certainty that Morey was out. Since the time period of a week has come and passed, I think it's safe to say the OP might have not had the best info (playing devil's advocate and assuming he does have inside info to begin with).
Source of a source - random anonymous internet person who drops a bomb and disappears may not be playing it straight.
Yep. I was thinking that maybe it may depend on how free agency goes...Codman said that Morey is expected to deliver the goods, maybe it means players and not coaches...maybe if he can sign good players ok, if not we're going to rebuild without him...?
I tend to agree with you on that with one caveat. Cod came into this thread and said whispers are present. CHI confirmed that OP might not be off base. Early on, I joked about starting secondary accounts and postulating wildly, then when those postulations come true pretend I'm an insider. OP might be doing that, or OP might have spoken with too much certainty, or even a game of telephone may be at play here. Regardless, the time has come and went and we still have Morey at the helm for better or for worse.
Now THIS is good intel! "An employee might be in a tough spot if his employer feels his work isn't adequate."
So, my inference of that is this: If Morey misses this offseason he not only loses control he could lose his job. Damn. That sucks, because honestly outside of Durant there isn't anything available or worth a damn. Expect Morey to give Dwight the max max, then get fired 2 months later. DM is a couple moves away from checkmate here.
