3 losing seasons in a row......a bunch of good but not great players. Not exactly an NBA hotspot.

The Rockets have the pieces to pull off two TRADES. Not a trade and a signing. Who cares about D-Will? The Rockets shouldn't at this point.

Their plan should look like this-

Step 1- aquire a massive amount of draft picks

Step 2- trade for Dwight with draft picks & one contract/player

Step 3- package other assets and 1 to 2 contracts/players for secondary all-star (Smith or Gasol type)

Step 4- make a run at free agents come July 1st.

There is no freaking reason why D-Will's opinion of Houston should be worth a damn at this point. If they are going to aquire D-Will, its going to be after the other trades are made when the dust settles.

Plus, keep in mind that D-Will wants to be in Brooklyn with Dwight as it has been manufactured ahead of time by the agents behind Dwight and Deron that pitched this plan to Dwight and Deron last year. Of course him and their agents want no part of them going to Houston because that means less $$$, and the spoils of fame in NYC.

Just like before.... Morey should stay the course and follow the process. Call their bluff, and put together a contender. If the team has enough talent to contend, then these players gluttony for fame and fortune, and greedy agent's doings will take care of themselves.

Nah. Houston just needs a star. It's not a terrible market and is in the top eight in market size. When we had a star, the seats were filled, like any other NBA city. You think Dallas is a better market than Houston?? No, they had Dirk.

We haven't had a losing season in a long time... Last three seasons have been winning seasons.

    Try them.

I hope this perceived cavalier attitude of Morey in his effort to get Dwight is real.

If anything, to teach some of these spoiled crybabies a lesson about who's in charge...for now.

This means 1 of 3 things:

    1) The entire basketball world and media except for Houston doesn't want the Rockets to become relevant again with two star players. I mean RIVAL GMs are going PUBLIC talking about how they know the Rockets plans. Who does that? The Rockets plan to get better, so what? All these reports about how niether will sign here and it's not happening when the Rockets haven't even confirmed this was their intentions!

2)Williams wants Dwight to be traded to NJ so he doesn't have to take less money. When it comes down to it and Dwight is already here he might change his mind. Either suck in NJ or join a contender and still make millions. Advertising revenue from being on a contender will MORE than make up for it you fool.

    3) Deron only wants to join Dallas or NJ. This may be true but it's all about the money and to show Dwight he is willing to take less money.

his " camp" probably thinks he is wanted here? I'm sorry but he is not a super star, chris paul is a superstar. Lowry can go to the nets and average those numbers and he will probably get you one more victory.Deron and his camp can eat a big fat twinkie.

Sources = Howard's, Williams' agents trying to scare off teams from trading for Howard and force Howard to Brooklyn.

Morey = Willing to call their bluff and trade for Howard. Then Deron will "re-evaluate" his options.

Yes, because he wants Deron too.
Its not like his team has no chance at Deron.

It's not. We obviously have a really good history in our franchise. It's just that these modern players have terrible self esteem. They only want to go to cities that have existing stars so they can take the pressure off themselves to perform. I mean really what desirability does Brooklyn have? As a franchise they've stunk since Jason Kidd left but now all of a sudden you have a player demanding to go there in a season after they barely won 20 games. Players used to demand to be traded to contenders not celler dwellers.

Serious question: does the rockets management have bad rep around the NBA? Morey's talk of assets, lowballing Lowry, all the contract disputes, no extensions etc?

If the Rockets want to make the most of their cap space they'd go after a wing player as the second star.

Brian Schmitz: Whether Dwight wants to go to Brooklyn over Houston, Magic are looking out for their future. Nets would have to wait another yr. for him. Twitter

    Something tells me he's coming!
