Let's be realistic outside of Nene we lack any kind of post game so signing Dmo is a no brainer if the medical team of the Rockets give Morey the green light.

The medical team of the Rockets?

The one that said he was ok and played him through the year last year? Of course they will say it is ok.

This whole medical team BS is just like Landry and his knee when he was a RFA....

Signing D-Mo is a no-brainer if the medical team of the Pistons gives Morey the green light. ;) [IMG]

We have the same medical staff as the one from the movie Varisity Blues.

Will believe it when I see it. I want DMO here. I still believe in his potential but the odds are firmly against him now.

I'm a DMo fan, but I recognize that he's not as essential to this Rocket team which already has a few decent options at PF even without him. But if he can perform well, that might be a win/win situation for both the Rockets and DMo. Rockets can trade him and get a valuable piece to pluck a hole at some other position while DMo can get a fresh start somewhere else and succeed better.

The problem is the pre-injury Dmo isn't walking through that door. I doubt he'll ever be that good again.

Shouldn't the title be DMo will sign??? Hahah, I know QO expired but if DMo/bj called Morey and said some figure at close to what was offered I'm sure he'd be signed, I mean last I checked DMo and his agent were/are the roadblocks.

    ;)

    Hope you're right, OP!

It'll be good to have some depth at 4/5, especially considering Nene's age and Anderson's injury history. I suspect he'll be stuck on the bench to begin with given his lack of time with D'Antoni and his not being 100% healthy, but even so it's a low risk move.

The Rockets already have Motiejunas' full bird rights since he has played the last three consecutive seasons with the team.

CBA FAQ #33 - How long must a player be with one team before the Larry Bird exception can be used?
The basic idea is that a player must play for the same team for three seasons for his team to gain Bird rights (two seasons for Early Bird rights). It can be a single three-year contract, a series of three one-year contracts, or any combination that adds up to three seasons (or two for Early Bird). [...]

Once Bird rights are established, they don't go away unless the player is renounced or signs with another NBA team. [...]

The clock resets when the player signs with a different NBA team as a free agent.

When will he sign, DM? What time?

I'd really like to move on from this.

Well it's either that or the Rockets gamble on his health. 4.4 million is worth the gamble considering if he gets back to what he was in 2015 it will be a huge bargin.

I don't even care much if this is true or not at this point. Tired of the slience and the waiting. It seems that the only one who care about the DMO situation is this forum. We have no news,no articles no information. So I will take fake news over nothing.

I would rather take the chance on Harrell and Wiltjer than D-Mo's health at this point to be honest.

As much as I liked D-Mo before, I honestly do not want to bring on another player that has a giant ? on his health especially since we already have two of those players (Anderson and Gordon) that we will rely on to succeed this season.

Additionally, there is no telling if D-Mo could get back to where he was 2 years ago, and whether he could actually improve from there.

    You're thinking about the Texans.

The Rockets training staff are more like the doctors in Idiocracy.

    Fire Keith Jones.

Well, they do look alike. :)

Anyway, thanks for the info, op. I would love to have DMo back for 4/5 insurance.
