Morey said LMA was very high on his wish list.

They are? Lopez (who Scola used to take to school, if memory serves), is averaging 4.3 boards, 5.7 points, and 2 blocks in 32 minutes, with an "astounding" PER of 9.03. Ouch! I've never liked Lopez. He can block shots, but isn't very good at anything else, in my humble opinion. I can see Portland wanting Asik easily. Whether they're interested in moving Aldridge, and whether we have anything they might want besides Omer, is another question entirely, as has been pointed out.

No, I am suggesting that none of the main pieces we can offer them are a significant upgrade over what they already have. The exception perhaps being Asik (especially on D), but his salary is so much higher in relation to his extra production.
Batum is of course more expensive than Parsons, but IMO a better player, and much better defesively.

And with a very good SG, they could be quite good, now you metion it. :)

For pure basketball reasons, it would make sense to trade Howard for LMA. Asik can do almost as well as Howard in rebounding and defense. If we had a great scoring 4, we really wouldn't need Howard's offense very much.

But trading Howard would be PR disaster and it would send a very bad message to future elite FAs.

Over 3 games, talk about small sample size.
Last season his PER was almost 19.

He's critical of players who take mid-range shots when they are very poor at it.

Scola at his peak shot something like 55? FG% at the left elbow.

    They'd definitely want Asik.

The problem is, I don't think they'd have any use for Asik if they can't pair him with Aldridge.

I think Asik gets traded for a semi-star (like a Millsap, Illyasova type) PF and a backup, defensive center to play a Dikembie like role.

    I still say:

Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin and Meyers Leonard to Brooklyn (and their deep-pocketed owner)..................Brook Lopez and (maybe Dmo?) to Portland..............LMA and Shawn Livingston to Houston

I should just say, 3-way trade between these teams, as I've posted before in the Random Trade thread; but it just makes too much sense. Portland gets the Lopez brothers at the 5, Brooklyn gets better depth (Deron Williams isn't healthy), we get who we want, too.

    Just a matter of time.

    OK, maybe not. But still.

Sign me up. But is Asik really that good to where the Rockets would get all that in return?

    Any info on Llull?

The Suns look intriguing. They have a package of players ie, Dragic, Plumlee, and Frye. That would fit, cover so many roles on this Rockets team. Plus they've got those multiple 2014 first round picks.

Not to bash OP but it's been pretty obvious for a while that aldridge is a target.

Appreciate hearing inside info but this one qualifies in the "no shi**t" Dept.

I like Aldridge and actually wouldn't mind trading Howard / Asik for him.
