So anyone who has seen my posts here knows that I've long held that Kubiak would be back next year no matter what. Keep that in mind when I tell you what I tell you.

I have a source who just told me that Gary Kubiak and the entire football operations side of the Texans are in serious jeopardy of losing their jobs. I was told that Kubiak is almost certainly out barring a miraculous turnaround, but that at this point it is the football operations people who are most worried.

Additionally, the Ed Reed situation was apparently not pretty.

I was told the entire "football operations" department is worried that they are gone at the end of the season.

Now, I know that Lance has said on air that his people tell him Rick Smith is definitely NOT losing his job. I didn't ask any details beyond any of that.

    I'd axe Smith before Kubiak.

Smith has made some serious head scratchers.

I've been one of the few still on the Kubiak train but the more and more I think, the more likely that Kubes is gone.

Andy Reid's year in KC is not helping Kubiak out at all right now.

I agree, wish McNair could sell to a more competent owner willing to stay here in Houston. They are all bumbling idiots over there on Kirby.

His sons are being groomed for the top job. He's not selling the team.

The front office/scouting should be worried. They got no production from their 3rd-7th round picks this year, and the 6th round pick is starting and producing elsewhere.

Not to mention all of the guys that we've let go that are contributors elsewhere over the last two years, meanwhile we are 2-7. That's pretty damning.

I've had that feeling since the Rams loss that Kubiak was inching toward his doom, and then the stroke incident made it an even stronger feeling. At least in that 2010 season, you could just point and say that all we needed was some help on defense. This team has some gaping holes and depth issues, talent evaluation issues, and is starting to reek of chaos within with this whole Ed Reed situation.

Truth be told, if Kubiak wasnt suffering from his medical illness, i truly wonder if Wade Philips wouldve gotten the reigns for the rest of the season.

What's amazing to me is that this is even news. I mean, if your team is in the midst of a 7-game losing streak, should anybody be surprised that the coach's job is in serious jeopardy?

    Only the Texans.

I mean I agree with you, but I would have said something similar after the 6-10 season following year 6. I would say similar things about being shocked that Marciano is still on the job.

I just had no belief whatsoever that Kubiak would ultimately be out until I heard the words from this source. I was stunned. So matter of fact about it. The stroke thing apparently is a total non-factor.

Kubes will have to fire Smith since he's the one who hired him.

Watch Smith, Kubiak, Wade, Kollar, Dennison, Benton, Dorrell, Harris, Herring, Joseph, Kirksey, and Pariani all get their walking papers........

and Joe Marciano remain as the special teams coach.
