Guess it's a matter of perspective. I view it as being only a step below the "C" word which is used in reference to female genitalia. Vile!

Actually, by my logic, it would be like the n-word has evolved to include other usages, one's that many people do not find particularly offensive and which are not in any way intended to dehumanize black people.
