Yes, roughly they are similar caliber players. However, Lin doesn't get the opportunities to show his talent like Harden does.

You don't honestly believe that. Why stop at Harden? Lin probably could be as good as Curry if he just had Curry type minutes. Right?

Lin and DMo could have been the equivalent of Jordan and Hakeem.

But they didn't get the opportunity

No, Curry is on another level. You don't honestly believe Harden and Curry are even close to the same caliber players? That's laughable.

DMo is like Penny Hardaway. Career derailed with an injury. Lin seems to be one of a kind. I don't remember another superstar caliber player who just wouldn't get playing time for no reason at all, even though he showed in New York for at least 10 games he can be a superstar when the circumstances are right.

How will he lead it if he doesn't get the playing time?

Yupp, given the right opportunity, Lin should be putting up Wilt GOAT season numbers easily.

what if Les Alexander moved the Rockets to Louisville??

Actually, that had a greater chance of happening than any of those scenarios you made.

The definitive "what if" is the Chris Paul to Lakers trade.

Do you honestly think Harden couldn't win an MVP in the Chinese league? Heck look at Mcgrady and Marbury and even an ancient Pippen in China. It's Different competition. What has Jeremy Lin won in accolades in the NBA? Two weeks of fame isn't comparable to what another player does for 82 games straight.
Let's make it simple... if Houston offered Harden for Jeremy Lin straight up, do you think Charlotte would say no?
Now if Charlotte offered Houston Jeremy Lin for Harden do you honestly think Morey would say yes?
    Now that's laughable.
I guess the Lakers also missed out on Linsanity.
