    Dikembe Mutombo

We Chinese respectfully call him Uncle Mu because of his "old age".

    Actually, Mo(Chinese character : 魔)itself mean magical(有魔力的)

However, in this case, the "Mo" in D Howard's Chinese nickname(Mo Shou,Chinese: 魔兽) may be better refers to "evil"(恶魔的) or "demon"(魔鬼)

    You see,many "魔" characters :)

    To summarize:

    Little Black Bean = AB

    Four-karat Diamond = Scola

    Little Tank = Lowry

    God Bird = Landry

    Kongfu Master = Wafer

    -------

    Awesome.

Would have been fun to guess whose nicknames linked to who.
I wonder if we would have guessed. They all seem to fit very well.

Dirk Nowitzki called "Driver" cause the "zKi" means Driver in Chinese.
Ariza called "Ironza" cause he alway like a blacksmith "Dang,Dang,Dang..."

Landry called LanLan cause there is a super Japn pron star named "RanRan"

That's probably because many of those Chinese nicknames are synonyms, acronyms, puns, etc, unless you really know Chinese, it's hard for non-Chinese speakers to grasp.

And great analysis of the history btw. As a person that grew up in China, I think that's the key to understanding China and the Chinese.

I've always thought the Great Wall Bill was talkin about is the gameplay, as in, someone drives in the lane, then hits a wall that cannot be moved that is Yao Ming.

That dude's translation is actually a little bit off. Landry should be the "great bald rooster."

In Chinese it sounds completely neutral, cute and loveable.
