    This problem helps gauge the capacity that a student has for detecting/analyzing information. This has nothing to do with math.

    That shouldn't be considered a math question- but its a good way to gauge the skills of children fpr admission.

    And we wonder why their scores are radically better than ours. While our kids are busy memorizing spongebob quotes and playing gameboy- theirs are learning english and critical thinking skills.
