i think chalmers will be a realistic option either to replace beverley or as a backup to him. championship experience, 3&D, good fit. miami needs to move him to make room under the LT to resign wade, plus they have dragic and napier. i honestly think papa's NG contract gets the deal done.
Another step closer to positionless basketball? Ariza Harden Dekker ? Howard The Rockets like the idea of their 2nd ballhandler to be the SF. They went through Budinger & T-Will until they found Parsons. Even Pap was given this role even though he was more of a Battier type player in Europe. The Rockets keep on mentioning how Dekker has the ability to find and pass to open teammates...
He's a turnover machine if you force him to bring it up the court. He's a great playmaker, not a great point guard. Those are two very very different things. Either Ariza needs to develop some point skills (pippen style) or you get a PG. My target would be Rondo. That dude still has that playoff fire... unfortunately for the mavs, their coach is a jackhole that doesn't know how to talk to smart players. McHale + Rondo = glorious things Here's a site that lists fewest points given up by the opposing point guard (organized by team): http://www.rotowire.com/daily/nba/defense-vspos.htm Detroit, Clippers, Bucks, Nets, Jazz ...I'd try to get a player from that list if you can't get a free agent.
It's not bringing the ball up the court. Harden can bring the ball up the court. What he can't do is initiate the offense all the time or be the only guy on the floor that can break down the defense. Bringing the ball up is not an issue. Most times teams let you bring the ball up without much friction.
I never thought I'd agree with this but I do. I would love to have an assist-minded PG that plays good D. That he can't shoot is very problematic because it encourages teams to double off of him. We also don't much need another hack-a-guy. But somebody has to make plays on this team. It can't all be on Harden. Beverley's good for about 3 assists a game? Not good enough when you're playing with such prolific shooters. If Rondo wanted to come here for the minimum I'd be cool with that. It seems like the Kings want him a lot more than we ever could though.

We are getting Rubio son. if not I would be cool with Rondo. People fall in love with a PG who can shoot, but we desperately need another ball handler.
Yeah, but weaknesses get exploited. THIRTEEN turnovers. Get this ingrained in your mind. It really is important. Portland gave him trouble two years doing the same exact thing. JAMES HARDEN even said he needs some help handling the ball. Jebus... He needs the ball at the 3 point line. The offense starts and end of story. We win.
