That’s considered snitching and letting stuff out of the locker room, which is taboo in sports. Cmon now....
What he is basically saying is, it really isn't that big a deal because lots of shady stuff happens in baseball all the time. At some point some of it will come out I am sure. I will say that when I worked for the Astros I was there around the players every home stand and they made no effort to hide everything from who they were sleeping with to what they were taking and who was tipping what. There was no shame, and that went for the players and the coaches...... the attitude was you did what you could get away with and no one would spread your business... didn't matter if guys hated each other, that line was not crossed.
So it's ok to use innuendo and accuse people of cheating and it's ok for players to say the Astros stole a World Series or should be punished for cheating, but it's taboo to stop others from stealing World Series? That's nonsense. That's fine - but then he shouldn't have said he thinks the title is tainted.
Fair enough, but he is a baseball player...... he throws a baseball for a living, I have low expectations having been around them.
I know the MLBPA and MLB had a deal to not punish players if they came forward during the investigations. I would assume that precludes them from "naming names" or providing specifics in public, but I really have no idea.
what I don't get is if Beltran masterminded the whole ordeal, why didn't he bat better than .231 in 2017? ROFTL...sign stealing didn't really improve his at bats, that's for sure
Because by all analytical studies that I've seen since this story broke, it just didn't help all that much for whatever reason.
It's like everyone is trying to make sure the spot light stays on the Astros so it doesn't come around and shine on them.
Why is Aaron Boone mad? He should be thanking us considering beating the Yankees in 2017 led to Girardi getting fired and Boone sliding in his place.
Tainted yes. Does it count. Yes. If you are going to vacate titles for rules violations half the World Series banners out there would need to be vacated. How do you know a title was not won because some juiced meat sack hit a home run in a playoff game when it would have been a fly ball if he wasn’t shooting up ball shrinking juice. I don’t like it one iota that they cheated. It sucks and leaves a sour taste in my mouth. But that banner will hang forever.
The only thing I stated were clear reasons why you don’t see other ex players stepping forward to confess/snitch.
Keep hearing Beltran was the main culprit in this and it dates back to 2015. Anyone think it will affect his HOF candidacy? And when TF is Boston getting punished?
