Guy calls in and says Rice doesn't need its athletic programs and the athletes can't handles Rice classes academically. Matt tells the caller that the statement makes him sound like a douchebag. Rich goes nuts on Matt and says that saying that was uncalled for and that Matt's essentially a douchebag for calling the caller one. Someone remind me why these two were paired together? Their dislike of each other is finally spilling onto the airwaves.

This. Was about to post it. Matt Jackson is obviously the favored of the two, so if they don't get along I can happily imagine life without Rich Lord on the airwaves. Besides, the caller was a douchebag.
I hate Rich Lord so much. He contributes so very little to that program and he should thank his lucky stars that he has been paired up with some very talented people in his career to this point because he could NEVER carry any kind of radio show by himself for any extended period of time.
Would you approve if they were national radio personalities? I posted it b/c I've never heard one radio show host lay into a co-host like that for voicing their opinion. Anyway, one minute Rich Lord is smarter than everyone else, dismissing the callers as if they don't matter - the next he's their bodyguard, making sure his mean co-host doesn't hurt their feelings. Right.
The caller did sound verrryyyyyy snobish to say the least and basically called the entire football team stupid so Matt was right although probably shouldn't have said it. Rich, sigh, I don't think was honestly trying to call him a Dbag but his rant about it making callers not want to express there opioion was stupid at best. This isn't the 80's or even the 90's, sports talk gets heated and nothing personal but it happens get over it Rich. Plus Matt even said the famous phrase "no offense" which we know means something offensive is about to come out but nothing personal.
Regarding the Jim Rome envy, this was actually discussed last week. Rich said he was in Austin for his daughter's 21st birthday and it was scheduled already
mattj posts here, and seems a reasonable enough guy... i've never heard either of them on radio......unless rich lord is the guy i'm thinking of who was doing 'rockets wrap' like 15-20 yrs ago......that guy was a douchebag...
I stopped listening to 610 pretty much because of 'Rich Bored'. His schtick is so predictable and asinine. Simply listen to the other guy's argument, try to rationalize the complete opposite point of view and argue it in a bored, arrogant voice. All the while basically admitting you're not really a Houston fan...nice. Buh-bye. I really use to like Mattj when he was by himself late at night...I wish they would match him up with someone less 'unlistenable' but apparently 'Bored' has some photos of the station director with some barn animal...
Doesn't mean he isn't still envious of the attention Matt has gotten over the good job he did on Rome's show.
