We came into tonight set at PG and PF and lacking C and SF. So we add another undersized PF (Morris), undersized PG (Flynn), and questionable Euro PF (Monty). At some point Morey has to quit "collecting assets" and obtaining players this team needs. It takes two teams to trade. You can't keep collecting players that have not lived up to potential (or are just busts like Thabeet) hoping they turn into gold or another sucker team will trade you a "superstar" for them. I have been on the Morey bandwagon, but not I'm really starting to wonder. How exactly have we improved tonight? We obtained 2 more backup players and Euro that has questionable desire to play....
Marcus Morris will play SF, it's already been reported the Rockets view him as a SF. I expect Dragic or Lowry to be gone to make room for Flynn who still has a lot of potential. Dontaus has Dirk like potential, cant be mad at the pick.
1. All of the best Center prospects were gone by #14 2. Marcus Morris might actually transition over to the SF pretty well 3. By #20, you have to go with the BPA and that was Monty 4. You take on Flynn to get Monty and to get rid of Brad Miller's corpse What else can be clearer? The only person in this thread that mentions assets is you, OP.
You're about as straight as a bag of penises right now. ohhh, I mean you're assumption is. Morris primary position is going to be SF for us.
Morey is getting the job done. I don't know what you're complaining about. There is still a lot of work to be done, but it takes time.
We unloaded Miller's dead weight contract. We were never going to fix our problems selecting at #14/23. It always needed to be a trade....and we're stocked up to make that trade.
We traded the 23rd pick for Flynn and the 20th pick. Plus Monetjas is a talented 7', something we need.
I can't help but agree. To be so sure that Marcus Morris can play the 3 in the NBA is a fairly bold statement to make when there is little to no evidence to back it up. Flynn is about as useful as Miller would have been. Motiejunas is the only thing I like about the package. By drafting him you are essential saying that the potential character issues aren't a concern. If that's the case then Jeremy Tyler could have done a lot more for this team than a rail thin 4. 5 PF's and 3 PG's...
Motiejuanas will be a C, Morris at the 3, I'm curious to see what happens with Dragic, I think he's the one who gets traded.
All the big name centers were gone. Who the hell else was left? Donatas ceiling is Dirk and we got him for the 20th pick. Flynn had Rubio in his shadows from the start, was stuck in Minny with a bad coach, and was injured.
On Morris, I like others believe he'll be a SF here. As for the trade, from a salary standpoint, Flynn and Miller cancel each other out. Both players effectively have one year left on their contract at about the same money. So taking out the salary, the trade boils down to Donatas/20th pick Flynn the player for 23rd pick Future 1st rounder that is forever lottery-protected which we got for nothing, aka Battier who'd have left anyway in FA. Hating on this trade is almost meaningless.
I'm going to post this in every thread, but I just watched video of Morris. His skillset looks a ton like Paul Pierce. I mean really guys, go watch his draft express workout video. The guy is smooth. He is a tad taller than pierce, but similar weight I think.
I'm sick of people saying Morey is steadily collecting assets for something big. We aren't trying to sell a ****ing house. Either put together a team or **** off. And please get rid of Martin. The way he flops so much you would think he belongs on the Jazz.
