This is proof that a large amount of the RED/Teabaggers and their leaders are careless buffoons bumbling around leaving a path of destruction and poverty behind them. Joking. However, it does go to show that despite his shortcomings, the right man won during Fall 2008. And probably will again in 2012. Mind you, this video is over two years old. Before the disaster in Japan, but boy are these people idiots... <script type="text/javascript" src="http://videosift.com/widget.js?video=118200&width=540&comments=15&minimized=1"></script>
McCain was infinitely more qualified than Obama. Obama has looked like a completely indecisive amateur as President. It's embarrassing, really.
Yeah, McCain probably would have done so much better. He would have probably suspended his presidency at the first sign of trouble.
I agree, but that wasn't the point of the video. It could have been taken out of context, but I don't have much faith in political rally crowds.
So because there is a nuclear disaster every 30-40 years, McCain was somehow the wrong man? The nuclear plant in Japan and the oil spill in the Gulf make headlines, but no one talks about all of the offshore wells and nuclear plants that are working just fine. McCain was right, we should be using all of the energy production means available to us. People are welcome to their opinion, but the fact that McCain supported offshore drilling and nuclear power are not reasons that he should not have won.
so an out of date and technologically obsolete nuclear power plant was subjected to one of the 5 worst earthquakes in recorded history, and a resulting tsunami of epic proportions, and (to date) the death toll from radiation stands at... zero. so i ask you- is nuclear power safe? a useful chart: Spoiler
So as McCain would say... "Blah Blah Blah" to you response. How old is the "out of date and technologically obsolete nuclear power plant" in Japan? Just over 40 years old right. Here's one for you... How new is the newest nuclear power plant here in the US? Here's a hint: It was built in 1974.
Why are people suddenly doubting nuclear safety? The reactors in Japan survived the worst possible scenario with minimal release of radioactive material.
They were designed to withstand an 8.2 earthquake. It has withstood a 9.0 and ensuing tsunami. It's over 40 years old. The cores are intact and contained. Minimal radiation exposure occurred, and I have heard of no deaths related to radiation even among the workers (the 50 heroes) that remained at the plant. And people are trying to say nuclear power isn't safe? Are these the same people in California running off to buy Geiger counters and iodide pills?
No kidding. 40 year old nuclear plants get hit by massive, earth shattering catastrophes and actually held up fairly well. I'm still on the nuclear bandwagon.
Can we get the spent fuel rods up to Yucca already. That still is an unresolved issue where the govt is just passing the buck and nuclear plants have been asking for action.
No I'm not: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_power_in_the_United_States "Of the 104 plants now operating in the U.S., ground was broken on all of them in 1974 or earlier"
Also you seemed to have backed off of your statement i told you was wrong. Typical idiot internet move, say something then change it. built in 1974 right? Oh no wait, ground broken, which officially means nothing. We have plants that came online in the 1990s.
