They wont get those contracts for years Keuchel is ours through 2018. Altuve 2019, McHugh 2019, Springer 2020, McCullers and Correa are here all the way through 2021.
The astros will let Mchugh walk at that price. Keuchel, Correa, Springer and Altuve are the only truly core players that the Astros are going to HAVE to retain. Mchugh would be nice to have but he's not going to get overpaid here, McCullers is a wait and see candidate.
Keuchel will most likely sign a deal this offseason that will take him through his arbitration years (something around 3 years, $22MM). Other than that, here are the arbitration projections. Will be interesting to see what we do with Carter and Valbuena.
Hearing Conger might be asking for 2.5 million, this is his second arb year. They'll let him walk, no doubt about it as Stassy is making 500K and can do the same/better. They're not paying for the stupid robot dance. Not even funny.
I believe he wasn't traded earlier because the team in question (Mets?) had reservations about him due to what? Injury. You pretty much supported what I said between the slump and injury. I'm not saying I hate him, just not really high on the guy. Our team was also doing very well before the trade. Just saying. Doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it's a fact.
We got him for this year and next year. The injury was an issue, but Marisnick was the bigger issue. He was abysmal for most of the season offensively. He had the hot start, then proceeded to post a sub .500 OPS for the next 3 months, we simply couldn't allow that to continue.
You apologize right now!!! The zombie robot is a part of Houston...it earned Conger a spot on Bun B's song for God's sake!!! I personally love the zombie robot. I think we should offer Conger the job of bench manager next year. I don't want him behind the plate....but I do want him in the dugout.
Its actually the robot from chappelle's show that hes doing. Loved this during the shows years and awesome to see conger bring it back lol <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7oXgjQnPfec" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Against right-handed pitching, sure. Gattis had a weird split this year where he was actually worse against lefties... which goes against his career track record.
Bring Colby Jack back. Seems great in the clubhouse and he's having one of the best years of his career.
As far as Rasmus goes... he still was basically a platoon player by the end of the season. That will be even more evident with a fully healthy Gomez/Springer for a full season, as neither will be out of the lineup much. Price has to be right... for both sides, obviously.
