i went away from computers, tvs and phones for a day. and i came back we had completed 2 signings. other than the lma thing still open which we dont seem to have a lotta hope at this moment, are we pretty much done with offseason moves? or there's more to come? i am a little lost and dont know what to think/expect. if this indeed is the main frame of the roster on the opening day coming october, with no other significant signings or trades, will you be happy? i am not sure.
If Aldridge chooses to come to us, expect a heap of trades. If he goes to Spurs, which is most likely, not sure what else we do. I would like to see us have a go at trying to bring in CJ Watson straight up or a sign and trade with Jones for West and Watson (not sure if s&t is possible in this situation) as the key pieces of a deal.
I'd still be happy since we're bringing back pretty much all of last year's team. Anything else is just icing on the cake.
So far all "sources reporting" was very accurate. Currently no legit source-man is talking about LMA to Houston. It's obvious he's going to Spurs. But we are not even mentioned in his top 3. He's not coming, he never was.
15 total roster spots The Rockets have 12 players under contract (including Bev & Brew). Once Dekker & Harrell are signed that will make it 14 That will leave KJ McDaniels and Josh Smith as two guys I think they want back but only 1 spot. KPap has a fully non-guaranteed contract and Priggs has only 250,000 guaranteed. Either or both could be cut or traded to create more roster spots. I don't think we are done with moves at all.
So as it stands now we have: PG: Bev, Prigs, Johnson SG: Harden, SF: Ariza, Brewer, Pap, Dekker PF: Jones, DMO, Harrell, Wood, Dorsey C: Howard, Capela Pending: JSmoove, KJ, JET Correct????
technically yes, but they are allowed to go over 15 spots in the summer and I think Wood fits into that. I don't think he will be on the team in October, he is most likely going to be cut and resigned in RGV.
You made this sound like it was some sort of crazy occurrence. I had a good laugh. Still a long road left before the season starts. We still need a true point guard.
don't forget they want to resign terry for a 1yr vet min. i also think they cut dorsey this year. only 1M left on his contract and harrell probably gets his spot. i think the next step is to resign josh and KJ. that may be how we use the MLE (in order to give both a competitive offer). after that I think papa/prigs/jones get traded for a backup PG. i'm thinking the options are: chalmers, jack, augustine, crawford, maybe S&T for lou williams. I can also see lawson or jennings but those are long shots. after that move i think the opening day roster looks like: dwight-capela-harrell dmo-josh-wood ariza-brew-dekker harden-KJ-johnson beverley-trade-terry
Looks good. I'd expect a trade involving a combination of Prigs, Johnson, Dorsey, KJ & JET to bring in Smith & maybe a pg.
