i always root for the underdog so i think that machado has some good playmaking skills that could help the second team. mchale liked to have two points on the floor at one time so maybe he would be good in situations like that. i think this guy will play with a chip on his shoulder and with a lot of heart. good luck scott.

He might not be the next big thing. I think with such a high ability in passing he will stick in this league and surprise a few. His only drawback is if he cant guard point guards. His passing is probably gonna be tremendous if he can do it that well in the NBA. You guys know how long its been since a guy averaged nearly 10 assists? A very long time. Over a decade. I am interested to see what he brings.

To all you saying I made a broad statement saying Undrafted players NEVER pan out...did you all somehow skip basic statistics class in college? There are aberrational quantities in every statistic. So 10 or so undrafted players actually made it to some form of success in the NBA...is my statement of undrafted players never panning out wrong? No.

Its like someone saying "Why play the lotto? No one ever wins!" yet there is 1 winner (or more) almost every draw. The winner is a statistical anomaly, however it is a counted anomaly that everyone is trying to be. I digress, the success rate of an undrafted player (or drafted player) is astronomically tiny...and any person provided as proof as to how wrong I am clearly doesnt understand statistics and group dynamic.

The status quo ante basically affirms my point. Out of the 10s of thousands of undrafted NBA players over the course of basketball you can name 10 who made an impact.

I have every historical, and statistical right to label him a bust. I will put 15 bucks in the tip jar if he makes to the roster on a guaranteed deal.

I think if there's one thing DMorey can hang his hat on, its his eyes for pgs. How many pgs have we taken out of the garbage bin that turned out to be decent: Aaron brooks, Kyle Lowry, Ish Smith, Jeremy Lin. Even scrubs like Danny Fortson is good enough to get a contract from us, so if DMorey and his staff thinks Machado might bring something interesting, it might be pretty cool.

One thing the article highlighted is how the guy basically improved during his 4 years in college, upping his assists from 3 to almost 10, grabbing boards and even improving his shooting %s. I think guys like that have some upside, perhaps one reason DM didn't match the Dragic offer is because he thought he can find a substitute for less. Lin for example is one such guy, and perhaps Machado is another.

Can't the same be said about the NFL, MLB, and every other pro sport out there? You're just reaching now.

How is someone a bust before they even step on to the court? Also, it is impossible, I repeat - IMPOSSIBLE-, to say an undrafted player is a bust.

Lastly, if he makes the team, it will be non guaranteed. How about you donate solely based on whether he makes the team or not?

Don't use absolutes in your statements then. Just one example is enough to disprove your "never". It's English.

I'm pretty sure we're already going to sign him to a Chase Budinger-type contract.

The fact that the statics weigh heavy in favor of what you were trying to say is beside the point. And clearly shows that you have very low comprehension skills.

People are high on Scott Machado because he does have talent. And if some of talent translates into production, then it will be exciting to be front and center to watch it if he is a Rocket.

As for you calling him a bust, doesn't make you much of a handicapper, makes you sheep, a sheep for statistics. Statistics help you analyze and assist you making a sound decision with some of basic knowledge. But obviously, you missed that most selections are based on opinion, even Daryl Morey's. It's an opinion based if facts.

Take your position that he will be bust, but don't try to sway other people like you have some great in-depth knowledge of game. Cause obviously, you don't.

    BTW, the definition of never:

    nev·er   /ˈnɛvər/ Show Spelled[nev-er] Show IPA
    adverb
    1. not ever; at no time: Such an idea never occurred to me.
    2. not at all; absolutely not: never mind; This will never do.
    3. to no extent or degree: He was never the wiser for his experience.

Should have learned this wwwaaaaayyyy before college bro...

Basketball is a sport built in statistics. Most selections are based on OPINION? Show me where. Seriously show me where a pick was based on opinion? Because I am pretty sure picks are based on production and projected production...which is based on...STATISTICS.

Between you and I, I am the one basing my argument on facts which are within sound reason. STATISTICS (based on actual human figures and productivity) show that he has an very slim chance of making it.

Prove me wrong, and I will accept you as the victor. If you can not I will assume you are just trying to compare e-penis sizes.

LMAO, the whole draft is SELECTIONS based in opinion. Most of the time the team selects the person they feel or think will be the person for their team. Yes it's based statistics but ultimately your selection is a guess. Seriously, you have some serious comprehension issues.

If everyone picked the best statistical person available for each and every pick, are you saying that the person selected #1 will always be better than the person selected #2 and so on?

Come on bro, get your head out of your ***.

Oh, and just so you know, basketball is built on players who can ball. And the fact that you don't know that tells me you must have never played.

This just proved how childish and unworthy you are of a reply, as such I am done speaking to you. You have very little command over basic statistical comprehension nor on basic projection and variable growth models.

I will take the challenge. I think his Statistics are so high in one category and having seen him play a little that it translates well to the NBA if he can just hold down his defense against bigger guards. Since passing is such a skill that it hardly changes as a person enters the NBA. I will wager that he makes into the league on a guaranteed contract some day. Now the Rockets like to have some sort of experience but will give chances out if they like what they see. Not sure it will be the Rockets. Stats say he wont but skills say he will. If he is given the chance much like Jeremy Lin had to.
