Feel free. You will find I disliked Alston and wanted Lowry over AB even before Lowry learned how to shoot.

Rafer was hated on because our offense was anemic at that time. Battier didn't score much at all, but he was an elite defender and and took efficient shots. Ditto Chuck Hayes. Rafer took plenty of horrible shots, which overwhelmed all the other positives he brought to the table. Had our roster been built differently, perhaps he could have played to his strengths and been remembered more fondly.

Oh I know. I'm actually getting a few laughs from that old thread. Folks saying Lowry sucks and is garbage. Saying we are wasting Yao's "prime".

Couldn't believe the hate back then, cannot believe it now. Rafer was a very good PG and it was indeed the roster and lack of good shooters that forced him to shoot more than he probably should have. He did have a lot of great shooting nights, in the 20-30 range but guess what..so did Maxwell, a guy many of us loved. Also played with a lot of spark, feistiness, an edge that sometimes he would cross but nothing too major. Beverley has some skip in him, but don't be fooled, Rafer was better than most starting PGs today.

Rafer was terrible. Every time he threw up that teardrop you knew he was going to miss. At least Lin can hit a jump shot.

We got to the 2nd round with AB. What did Rafer win?

We all have some horror memory of Rafer's shooting. But you have to give him the credit during that 22-game streak. He played fantastic and was a big part of it.

One of my high school best friend's mom was his spanish teacher at Cardoza High. Who woulda thunk I would be watching him Thrive for 4 seasons with the Amazin' Rockets

Barring some injuries to Yao, TMac, Mutombo, Battier, etc. in the playoffs that TEAM had the potential to go all the way!

What is worse. Alston dribble, drive, tear drop, brick.
Or Lin dribble, drive, pick up dribble, pivot, turnover.

People were way too focused on Rafer's scoring when he was here and ignored everything else. His shooting was below average, but if he could have been the 5th option instead of the 3rd or 4th option on offense he could have been a piece on a contender as he showed with Orlando.
Anyway, that was an entertaining and1 mix tape video
