Bond's scottish background was never an integral part of his character. He's an orphan for god's sake.

Anyone that engages in debate here is going to suffer some criticism. There's fair criticism and there's unfair criticism. If I said, "I think you must not be familiar with ……." or "you must not be aware that.....", that's fair criticism. If I question your ancestry, that's unfair criticism. But I'll stand by my point that SJWs have to look for grievances, even to the point of making them up. It's who they are.

It really has no value. James Bond films minis a few gems such as Casino Royale are your average Hollywood revenue pushing blockbuster films that hardly sticks to Ian Fleming's work with repetitive over the top action set pieces and hardly any character development worth caring for. To pretend you are personally offended that a blockbuster milked franchise is suddenly going to be destroyed because a female is bond is absurd. In the past 20 years there probably have been 2 or 3 at most decent Bond films. No one is watching these films due to the cultural history of Bond's ethnic background. This isn't Mulan where the ethnic and gender roles play a core central part to the story.
I just don't think a British spy with Scottish ancestry represents Scottish history and values like you do I guess. I look at the franchise as a series of entertaining cheesy dialogue films that want to showcase tech gadget cars, some cool but not really useful spy accessories, watch a spy plow a bunch of hot women and casually save the day. Little did I know in these films have there been subtle references of Scottish independence and cultural history appreciation. Here I was thinking that when the Bourne franchise took off, offering it's different serious take of spy films, did the Bond franchise realize that perhaps a womanizing 50+ year old white man that makes cheesy one liners wasn't as compelling to audiences. Now I know the blame lies to PC culture and SJWs. I have seen the snowflake light.
First... a female isn't Bond. She has the code name 007. Not saying this in a rude way, but you're just not correct in your statement. The side issue about Bond not being Scottish is a pretty big deal. If he is black, they should make him at a least black Scottish person. About 1 percent of Scotland is black, so I wouldn't mind as much if they keep that and do it that way. That said, to make a character black just to make him not white, or to troll white people for controversy, is stupid. I don't support casting just for that and the way movie promotion works now, is just that. Fake controversy. So why change it really? I personally say just keep the character the way the character looks. The SJW types advocating to replace a white bond with a black one seem to really want to do it because of skin color, and that is just a bit disturbing because it's not needed. I still find it odd to think of Bond as black since I've been to Scotland and I think maybe I saw one black person in the center of Edinburgh. Also I know James bond in my mind as a white guy in his thirties. It would literally be like seeing your friend but his skin color went Michael Jackson. Not saying he can't be awesome, which I mean MJ was pretty stellar, but it would be odd and possibly distracting. It just isn't consistent with the character at all. This thread isn't about bond being black or white, but a certain group of people here have taken this thread in that direction. I wonder who the real racists are?
Are you playing a shtick? Serious question? If not, no one gives a **** dude. Bond has been low brow campy Hollywood fodder minus a few films for 3 decades now. The creative talent of the movies are making these decisions. Blame them for your offense to a character change to a low brow series that has hardly any character development that people tune in to just to see the over the top action scenes. Your complaints would seem more genuine and valid if they decided to do a nuanced web or tv bond series where depth in origin story and character development mattered.

I’m not complaining about white actors playing James Bond, nor am insisting that he should be played by a black actor. I just don’t think it’s a big deal if he was to be interpreted as a black man in a movie, while you are making lame excuses for why it shouldn’t happen. And of course you are unable to answer my question about why him being supposedly Scottish is so important to you for any film version of the character, but not all the other myriad traits and background Fleming gave to the literary version.
Read my other recent posts and I explain my views on this with more nuance. Scottish heritage is a big part of his character background. Smoking a cigarette is a minor trait. Background major. You are welcome to disagree but hey it would be like a person you know suddenly showed up with different skin. It would be odd is what I have said. Dunno why it befuddles you so much that fans like the character and would find major changes odd and possibly distracting. I will point out again that I didn't make this thread to discuss a nonissue like skin color. The real issue is the sjw feminist cancer from the new writer. If you want to talk about a potential black bond go ahead but I really don't have an interest in something that is not actually happening.
Also are we going to pretend that the Ian Fleming's serialized stories that started in Playboy are some peices of great in depth literally work with in depth character development? They are equivalent to cheap romance novels. Casino Royale is probably the exception to that.
