Is this contract really that bad? He seems to have improved every single year and is pretty darn good. He's only 26, so these are his prime years...
He's a poor man Melo, literally, less dumb but also less talented. He can score in any way but he's a poor defender, not exactly a team player...overall he is a good player but he's about to get 35M per season for 5 years, that's a big overpay, he should get 10M less at least.
Yes. For arguments sake, if Butler did want to play for the Rockets, I would take Gordon for 14 million in a millisecond over 36 million for Tobias Harris. They panicked at the thought of losing both and mangled their beautiful cap situation.
Yeah you can lose Butler and Harris. Your core is Embiid and Simmons, those are the pieces you are building around. You can get 80% of Tobias Harris for a 1/4 of that contract.
So...they've pretty much given up on Butler then? Seems like they would be more than eager for a SnT?
At some point your just doubling down on your misses though. Unless you think that losing Butler makes the Sixers better?
This is the single worst contract in the NBA going forward, PERIOD. Average Annual Salary: 1. $42,782,880 -- James Harden 2. $42,782,880 -- John Wall 3. $41,358,814 -- Russell Westbrook 4. $41,063,925 -- Kevin Durant 5. $40,231,758 -- Steph Curry 6. $39,932,648 -- Chris Paul 7. $38,328,212 -- LeBron James 8. $36,000,000 -- Tobias Harris That's a who's who list of superstars, MVPs, 1st ballot hall of famers, etc. Then, you have Tobias freaking Harris who has never made a single all-star selection. Unbelievable! This move will end up causing Embiid to demand a trade 2 years down the road.
