    Happy Chinese New year

    Happy new year, Yao!

Happy new year, all Chinese fans!

Wish Rox may have a terrific new year.

Attached: Yao's interview in the new year eve

    Some key points:
    1. Yao caught a cold, and still takes pills and rest. He said it would affect his stamina in the game.

    2. My performance was lower than his expectation so far. but it is getting better. He wants to keep it up.

    3. My under-performance (didn't reach 20/10 mark) has nothing to do with coach's strategy. My improvement is too slow. Look at Amare, he couldn't shoot a 10 footer last year, but he can take 18-foot jumper now. I have realized the importance of a systmatic practice in the summer. I have to try my best to get some time in the summer for my improvment.

Yao says it is his fault he have not improved enough this year (not for Sina Phobic)

In this article Yao talks about his recent flu and says he is feeling better. He also says he have not improved enough this year but is getting better right now and hopes this trend continues. He mentioned that when he get the ball in positions he likes, he shoots a higher percentage and feels more confident thus attempting more shots. He says he haven't posted as much on the low post this year due to the fronting defense, now they uses pick and roll a lot to get him open. He said his scoring increase is due to T-Mac attracting double teams and gives him more room to operate, but his rebounding have not improved because he is not always thinking about rebounding, someting he have to improve on(anticipation). Last thing he said was his lack of improvement is his own fault and not Grumpy's fault, he siad he now knows the importance of summer training after seeing the improvement in Amare's game this year, he will train hard in the summer so as not to lag behind other stars in development.

    Geez. I got confused.

IT should be "My performance was lower than my expectation so far. but it is getting better. I want to keep it up.

Was it mentioned in another thread that Yao does not have any national team commitments this summer? If so, this could be key. He needs to work on some pet moves, as well as conditioning, and maybe some isometric training.

I would like Yao to work on speed, agility.. I think anyone can improve on explosiveness and agility with the right kind of training.

I dont want Yao to get any bigger, it seems to affect his endurance and speed. If he wants to get stronger but not bigger he should focus more on reps. and try to become wiry like KG..

    what do you guys think?

Big Bulk ? he would be harder to move but he would struggle more running around.

Lean Muscle Mass ? wouldnt have more weight meaning he might still be pushed off the block but should have more energy and strength.
